Friendship Sonnet
The world can be a harsh and barren place,
and life seem hard and sometimes pointless too,
the future seems impossible to face,
then suddenly, with warmth, I think of you,
when problems mount and mundane tasks arise,
and days are black with sunshine far away,
I think of one who's always warm and wise,
for you cheer me with everything you say.
When days are bright, my spirits rise again,
and like the birds which soar and loudly coo,
we laugh and chatter and good friends remain,
as life's pleasures I share again with you.
Often tribulations try to assail,
but thankfully our friendship will prevail.
