INTRODUCTION
Aerobatics is one of a few sports that demand as
much, mentally and physically from the participants. The pilot must have the
skill and stamina to fly with split second timing, precise speed and altitude
control. They must make continuous calculations of such variables as wind and
temperature. The pilot must be mind full of the aircrafts limitations as well as
human limitations and their personal tolerances. Any roll in the wrong
direction, misplaced pull out or wrong turn can take them out of the competition
with a score of zero by the judges. At the highest levels of aerobatics the
tremendous gravitational levels can make your heart rate go from one beat every
seven seconds to two hundred beats a minute in the space of five seconds.
Officially aerobatic flight is intentionally
performing a bank angle in excess of 60 degrees or a pitch angle in excess of 45
degrees. It can also mean intentional abrupt changes direction, bank angle,
pitch, altitude and speed.
