PSA MINUTES
October 23, 2003

The meeting chaired by High School PSA representatives was called to order at 8.30 a.m.

1. The minutes of the August Session were approved as proposed

2. Presentation by Kathy Bader

  • Kathy Bader, School Psychologist gave a presentation on use/abuse of substances by students at AES based on survey conducted by the school in the last two years. The good attendance at the meeting gave a lot of inputs on how the survey can be modified in the current academic year and a suggestion to the effect that parent’s survey appropriately modified on the same issue, would also be important to get their view in the matter. Kathy Bader noted many relevant questions by the audience seeking clarification in the last survey unanswered that can be verified and included in future and assured to take it up with Dr Hetzel . One parent suggested that topic of this importance should be held in the evening to enable all parents to attend. Sunita reminded that the next HS coffee evening to be held on the 28th is precisely on the very topic and assured that various suggestions to improve such evenings to be more effective and conductive in future would be taken up. She also mentioned that 7th and 8th grade parents are to be invited too for the same HS coffee.
3. There was no report from the Curriculam Representative.
