The United Nations Women’s Association invites you to participate in one of AES’s most popular events—the UN DAY BAKE SALE fund-raiser, to be held Tuesday, October 19th.
Organized jointly by the UNWA and PSA, this bake sale has become a UN Day tradition, demonstrating the importance of service and charity as well as the school’s commitment to the ideals of the United Nations. The proceeds of this popular event are donated to the UN Women’s Association’s Kindergarten in Bhogal, New Delhi.
Since 1965, the UNWA Kindergarten for disadvantaged children has been giving a head start to children who would not otherwise be able to attend school. Basic concepts of hygiene, health and nutrition are introduced; books, school uniforms, shoes and sweaters for winter are provided; and a healthy snack in served each day.
All three schools will participate, with sale locations all around campus. Any kind of baked goods are appreciated, savories and sweets! The HS students particularly like the spring rolls, pizza and such to have for lunchtime. Don’t let the supply of baked goods run out before the demand!
PLEASE HELP us create a fun and rewarding sale this year by contributing a plate of baked goods (especially from your home!) when you drop your children for school on October 19th. Food should be wrapped into small individual packages if possible and left at Gate 2 or 5. We will label the items with a price. If you send a container that you want returned, please be sure to put your name and child’s grade on it.
Please send your elementary students to school with some extra rupees to buy treats for themselves.
THANK YOU.
