DELHI INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Season 2007 – 2008

The Delhi International Football League is a football competition for schoolchildren aged between 5 and 16 years. The Delhi International Football League was set up twenty years ago (around 1985). The purpose is to organise football for boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 16 in Delhi. For more than 20 years already, the season is organised between January and April when climate conditions are most favourable in Delhi. Matches are held on Saturday mornings or afternoons depending on the age of the children.

The League is organised by parents, who prepare the season, volunteer in coaching the teams, and supervise and come to watch during the matches.

The League is intended for all children (boys and girls) who like to play soccer, no restriction is made on available skills, so children with no previous experience are equally invited to participate.

Registration for 2008 will be announced in the Fall of 2007. To register, children have to come with one/both of the parents, fill a form and pay Rs 1000 as registration fee. After the registration has been done, all children will be invited for a skills-assessment day, TBA.

Apart from the registration of the children, we will also ask parents to participate in the League, by volunteering to coach or manage a team. Based on the skills –assessment, and a number of other criteria, we will try to make balanced teams, who will compete with each other for 10 weeks in 5 Divisions. Div 1, age 5-6; Div 2, age 7-8; Div 3, age 9-10; Div 4, age 11-13; Div 5, age 14-16.

The DIFL Football Season 2008 will start in January, 2008 and end March, 2008.

So, everybody who wants to participate in the DIFL League, please watch! More information to come!.
