| || I wonder sometimes how they expect me to tell you. How I'm supposed to glance into your eyes, and let you know what's really going on behind mine. || It's confusing, at times, to put into words what's running rampant in your heart. Especially when there is more than one thing. || I don't have many regrets in my life, about things I've done or experienced. Or had done to me. But the few that I do possess are heart-wrenching. || It's odd to be in one place, and be happy. But still miss the place you moved on from. And in the midst of all this, Savior, you are there. |

| || I feel slightly sorry for the stranger whose flip flops we so mercilessly flung into the James River that radiant summer afternoon. He had (most likely) done nothing to affront us, or cause us distress. And yet we took his pair of shoes - from the wear on them, perhaps the only pair he owned - and viciously lowered them to their watery grave. || Memories can be so inconvenient, at times. Beautiful, encouraging remembrances are most always welcomed. It is those flashbacks of something good, gone ill, that can interrupt your life quite unpleasantly - even if it is just for a few moments. "The sun was shining with silvered strength / And all across a vast expanse / Pageants and productions wandered amazed / At the kaleidoscope of this cerebral dance." |

| .Does anyone else believe that perhaps our standards are getting too high?. || I saw a bumper sticker the other day...Next time you think you're perfect, try walking on water. A worthy and, quite true, statement. But, do we really need to be telling the world that the litmus test of perfection is whether or not they are able to traverse water without sinking? The tendencies are already there..."I'm not that bad of a guy - I've never stolen anything, or murdered anyone." "I go to church every Sunday, and read my Bible at Christmas!" || Wouldn't it be better for their understanding to say, Next time you think you're perfect, try not to flip off the guy who cuts in front of you at the traffic light ? Because really, there is a plethora of things short of walking on water that prove our depraved humanity and inherent unworthiness quite well. || I don't need to nitpick...but in its effort to be cutesy and spawn catch-phrases, the Christian community seems to be missing a lot of the overall point. |
