When a young servingwoman lost her parents to a plague, she discovered that all she wanted in her life was someone to love who would love her back. A few days after her search began for a perfect husband, a tall, dark, and mysterious stranger arrived. He left three weeks later. The only thing he left was a small child named Merci.
As a child, Merci developed a fascination with music. As for her mother, she had committed suicide in the end, escaping her bonds by slitting her wrists. Upon recieving this news, Merci held her head high and stated quite clearly that there was no love lost. But because of this tragedy and the way her mother had come the be with child, Merci would never be allowed to live a normal life in the village where she had been raised. She would have to leave to hide the truth of her past and in doing so stain her future with lies and deceptions. Then one day while travelling Merci came across a mischievious girl about her age, looking positively fed up with the world. The girl's name was Lara Aetharyn, and though when they met Lara was ready to leave the Aetharyn family she had been born into, she was the one to talk Merci into joining, and finally to sponsor her.
After some time in the Fifth House, Merci discovered she had a talent for dancing. She was soon accepted into the Third House and some say she has become a whole new person. Her outlook onlife is certainly brighter these days, and she's much happier. Though, always the romantic, she has her eye on a certain Aetharyn lad that just might give this new fairy tale life of hers its happily ever after. |
