Robyn Aetharyn
Robyn had not come to the Aetharyns to escape any horrible past.  In fact, she had precious  little in the way of memories that did not involve the Aetharyn home or its people.  She grew up  among them, sent there by parents she scarcely remembers, to become a dancer.  Robyn never did  find out what became of her parents, but she had a good family, and she has no regrets in that  regard.  Of regrets, though, she has plenty.  Innumerable, and irrevocable.

She should be a happy woman, and at first glance her life is perfect.  But the smile is so often  forced, and the family she made for herself is a broken one.  Her daughter, just six years old,  is of full elven blood.  Her husband of eight years, on the other hand, is human.  The girl is  reaching an age now that questions are being asked, innocent as they may be.  Kaliden is little  help in the matter, but she cannot blame him.  It is not his child.  And Thelonius...  Ah,  Thorn, he's been a father to the child in everything but name, but she has forbidden him to  admit it to anyone, even the child.  Her best friend once, she fears she is losing him, losing  everything.  Who knew that one night could shatter an entire life?  Many lives, perhaps, but in  her own predicament, there seems the least light shimmering at the end of the tunnel.

The only reprieve that remains untainted is her dancing, and she cherishes the escape it allows  her.  She is a valuable member the the Third House, whatever her secrets.

For this young Aetharyn, it is not her past she seeks to hide from, but the painful present.
