Tauryn suffered through most of his life as the victim of such humiliation. He was born different than all the other boys, and his parents, eager to be rid of the "thing" and superstitious regarding his origins, sold him to a traveling circus where he was penned up and put on diplay where children could laugh and throw things at him during every show. He was never even taught to speak. Not until he was rescued by Myarallis and accepted into the Aetharyn Houses. He refused to join the Third House, but he is very attached to Mya. For many years before he finally joined the First House, however, he was in the Fifth learning to talk, to read and to write. Tauryn loves to read, though he seldom talks. He's a timid fellow, understandably so, and he does not take ridicule well. And there are still those who will throw rocks or shout curses his way... |
