Palestra is a retiarius - a gladiator trained in the use of a net and a trident. He has much experience in the arenas of the Empyre, and has won considerable fa me for himself. Yet in Haven, he is new and unknown. This is a stoic mongrel wit h a body seasoned with combat and a serious and perhaps a bit tragic expression on his face. His eyes speak of wisdom and acceptance of his fate. Pelestra comes from a farmer family... enslaved in his late youth and placed in a gladiator school. Despite his reclusive personality, he proved to be an aggres sive and deadly fighter, and fetched a high price on the slave market. The prime of his career has lasted for several years, and while some speculate that it wi ll end soon, this very lightly-armored fighter meets every challenge with the us ual stoic grace of an intelligent mongrel.
