Today as I ponder the
past and the days we spent side by side;
Talking with each other in swings amid the trees and tall
grass;
Discussing life, feelings, pains of life and pursuits of
happiness;
And how, as the saying goes, that into each life some
rain must fall;
The time that I spent with you was like a day without
rain.
Last night as you lay beside me with music filling the
air with beauty;
The only other sound was the warm breath coming from
inside your lovely body;
I thought of other times we spent holding each other,
caressing one another;
With the warmth and tenderness and loving that only
lovers share;
I've missed those feelings, but yesterday, with you, was
like a day without rain.
Both of us are free and gentle spirits, giving our love
to many, through lonely nights;
Yet we've needed the freedom to remove the shackles and
run to another place and time;
But the hours we are together is such a beautiful
experience that we know will be short lived;
Now that you've gone, there will be many days of storms,
yearnings and discontent;
Awaiting the day when you will return when it will be
like a day without rain
