M. Yasin Khosti

 

 

M. Yasin Khosti is the current elected President of the Society of Afghan Architects and Engineers in Afghanistan and an Executive Board member of the Society of Afghan Engineers in the USA and Executive Board member of the World Affairs Council of Arizona and several national and international organizations.

 

Born in Afghanistan, he received his B.Sc. in Geodetic Science in 1966 at the Ohio State University and Masters Degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix in 1995. He has lived in Arizona since 1983.

 

Yasin professional work includes working for the UN organizations, Government of Afghanistan and private Industry.

 

Yasin has served in several elected positions as the Arizona Police Task Force for Minorities, the Arizona Cancer Society, the Arizona International Refugee Consortium, the Mayo Clinic Task Force, Society of Administrators, and the Medical Society of Afghans in America and much more.

 

He lecturers on Motivation, Applied Creativity, Team Building, the Power of Non-verbal Communication, Leadership in the Workplace, and Let Us Go to Afghanistan.

 

Yasin traveled to Europe and the U.S. to present the status of Afghanistan, laws of investment, National Development Framework, National Development Budget, and the status of international cooperation, which he was one of the co-authors.

 

In April 2002, he helped establish a new independent government office “Afghan Assistance Coordination Authority” (AACA) to monitor, evaluate, and coordinate the international assistance for Afghanistan

 

He negotiated several contracts between Afghanistan, the US and several European firms  World Bank, Asian Development Bank, Islamic Bank, and the United Nations agencies.

 

As President of the Society of Architects and Engineers (SAAE) he initiated the International Conference “The Role of Private Sector in the Reconstruction and Development of Afghanistan”. This Conference was organized with the full assistance of the Society of the Afghan Engineers in the United States and sponsored by Kabul University, December 2005.  Significantly, the conference was inaugurated by H.E. S. Mojaddidi, the Ex-President of Afghanistan and now the President of the Afghan Parliament.

 

Yasin is a talented amateur photographer and chess player.
