All In A Day's Work
Episode 37

**

"Will I see you again this evening?" Lucas rolled over on the bed and turned towards Cassidy. He was surprised she had gone as far as sleeping with him, but if it got the job done --- there was nothing to worry about.

"I don't know." Cassidy couldn't help but feel guilty about what was going on. She felt the temptation was too difficult to resist, being with Lucas was almost like having Evan back. She was still miserable inside, Cassidy needed to talk to someone. She knew she could talk to Harvey.

"Why the rush?" Lucas watched as Cassidy searched for her clothes on the floor. He hoped Pete would be ready for her. If not, he was a dead man. "Maybe you should come back to bed?"

"I've got to get to work." Cassidy went to the bathroom to get dressed. She couldn't bear the weight of his eyes upon her again. It was too much like Evan. The phone rang and Lucas immediately picked up.

"So?" Pete was anxious about what was going on between Cassidy and Lucas, afraid if Bridges found out about them he'd be onto Pete.

"She's getting ready for work, so be ready." Lucas watched the bathroom door for movement while he continued, "she'll be with someone else today, not her partner but some other guy from the SIU."

"You get a name?" Pete couldn't work without a name.

"Harvey, that's all I could get." Lucas hadn't been too interested in what Cassidy had to say, he was just doing his job. If she believed his false affection, so be it.

"I'll run it by my boss after I do a little searching myself." Pete hung up the phone, things were getting complicated. Bridges was putting someone else on the job and Cassidy was sleeping with Lucas. He might need a new plan.

**
"You don't have to get up, go back to bed." Rachel didn't intend for Harvey to get up with her. She was leaving early so she could get to work and hopefully get out of there at a decent hour. She leaned in to kiss him as she made up her side of the bed.

"I do if I want to see you anytime before ten tonight." Harvey got out of bed and smiled towards her, "you do remember about dinner tonight?"

"Dinner, tonight?" Nothing immediately came to mind for Rachel. "What exactly was it that I'm supposed to remember?"

"Rachel, please don't tell me you're working over tonight. I don't want to be at dinner with Antwon and his lady love alone." Harvey had waited long enough to have somebody by his side all the time, he certainly didn't want to share her with the SFPD on a nightly basis. He had been pulled away be them one too many nights himself.

"Oh, that dinner..." Rachel shook her head, "I really don't think I can." She'd get out of the SIU early that night no matter what she had to do. She wasn't going to let Harvey and Antwon down. For now, Rachel wasn't going to make any promises but she'd definitely show up later.

"You're serious?" Harvey was beginning to feel shut out. He hardly saw Rachel at all anymore. Between work itself and helping Nash with Nick, he was lucky to see her outside of the SIU and get a moment's peace.

"I'll do everything I can." Rachel had completely forgotten about their dinner plans. She knew if she didn't go that she'd rightfully have hell to pay. Rachel would talk to Nash sometime during the day.

"I'm going to go right from work, so maybe you can meet us there?" Harvey would've preferred if they could go together, but that seemed impossible.

"You're not stopping at home first?" Rachel found it odd that he wouldn't be coming back to change before dinner.

"I'm on surveillance with Cassidy today, I'll be out in that direction." Harvey couldn't see a point in coming back home unless Rachel would be there with him. He'd much rather save the trip and wait at this point.

"What?" Rachel didn't like the sound of that at all. She assumed Nash didn't know about Cassidy's drunken visit with Harvey. It wasn't Harvey she worried about.

"Nash wants me to track Armstrong today with Cassidy, he wants me to see if that guy pops up again." Harvey knew why Nash wanted him there. He was worried about that man distracting Cassidy from her work and he wanted the job done.

"The Evan guy?" Rachel rolled her eyes in dismay, the case had gone too far. Someone else should be on surveillance now, Cassidy shouldn't be there at all. Rachel realized she had been putting off her promised conversation with Cassidy. She took her jacket out of the closet, silently mumbling "I'm going to kill Nash."

"Don't give Nash a hard time, he's just looking out for his kid." Harvey knew why Rachel was worried about him going out with Cassidy. Harvey appeared behind her and pulled the jacket onto her shoulders, "I'd prefer if the clothes were coming off as opposed to going on."

"Wouldn't we both." Rachel turned around and kissed Harvey, "I'll see you tonight."

**
"What are you going to do about Nick?" Joe knew how terrible Nash was feeling about his decision. Nash paced up and down the walk way by the coffee machine, it had been another night of little or no sleep.

"I don't know, Bubba. Half of me wants to keep him at home, the other half knows he'd be better somewhere else with full-time care." Nash dreaded going to look at the various convalescent homes. He hated having to make this decision alone.

"What about Stacy?" Joe wondered why she hadn't come to town yet. She'd certainly help to lighten Nash's load.

"I talked to her a few days ago, she can't get the time off work just yet unless it's an emergency." Nash questionned whether or not the situation was grave enough to call her boss himself. "And Cassidy's got her own problems. If anything, she's worse than me and can't see how sick Grandpa is."

"Have you called Lisa?" Joe wondered if she'd be coming back into town any time soon. It had been a while since her last visit and he knew how much she meant to Nick.

"Nah, I've been putting that off." Nash didn't want to impose on her any more than he had to. "I'll call her soon."

"And Rachel?" Joe was completely confused about where things stood between them. Apparently, Rachel was with Harvey but spending all her time helping Nash. He couldn't help but feel like an extra on the SIU soap opera.

"We're going to look at homes for Nick later on." Nash knew he was taking up a great deal of Rachel's time these days. He had no idea how he'd ever compensate her for what she's done.

"I see. What about Harvey?" Joe was curious about how Harvey felt about Rachel's absence. He didn't mean to pry, but he thought he should know in case there was ever a large disagreement and he had to chose sides.

"I'm not even going to touch that, bubba." Nash laughed, from what he could tell Harvey was okay with what was going on. Nothing had been said yet. Hopefully, everything would be back to normal once Nick was taken care of.

**
"Good morning, SIU..." Rachel was hoping this would be the call from the Sacremento PD that she had been waiting for. They had been all but instrumental in gathering Armstrong's history.

"Is Inspector McCabe in?" Connie waited, hoping whoever answered the phone wouldn't ask too many questions.  Antwon looked over to her desk, wondering if he should pick up the line as well with the Sacramento PD.

"This is she." Rachel thought a moment, trying to place the voice. "Connie?" Rachel motioned over to Antwon that the call wasn't what they wanted, and it wasn't what Rachel had expected.

"Rachel, you don't sound like yourself." Connie laughed, nervous about dropping her news on Rachel. "I'm glad I caught you. I seemed to have missed you at home lately."

"I haven't been there often, what's up?" Rachel knew there was a problem of some sort, otherwise Connie never would've called. Rachel desperately hoped there was nothing wrong.

"I, uh, I'm getting remarried in a few weeks and I wanted to tell you that," Connie couldn't bring herself to tell Rachel the truth, she'd have to put it off. "I wanted to tell you, or ask you, about signing some papers about RJ."

"Really? Congratulations." Rachel paused, letting the idea sink in. "What kind of papers?" Rachel thought they had taken care of everything early on, when Connie was pregnant and just after RJ was born.

"Nothing major, just custodial paperwork we'd like to get in order." Connie didn't know how Rachel would react to the news that she was getting married, or with their plans for RJ. She didn't think she was moving on two soon, after all, Rachel had married Harvey two and a half years after Ben died.

"Okay.  Do you need me to see a lawyer, or do I have to go to Kansas City?" Rachel didn't know what was expected of her. She was happy that Connie was moving on, but of course her son's best interests were at heart.

"Oh, no. My lawyer will send you the paperwork in the next couple weeks and everything is explained." Connie knew of no other way to start again with a new life. Rachel was her last chance, everyone else had turned her down thinking she was selfish.

"Alright, let me know if you need me for anything else." Rachel hung up the phone, wondering what further custodial agreements there could be. Her only idea was that maybe Connie's fiance had wanted to adopt RJ. But then again, it crossed her mind that maybe Connie's fiance wouldn't want RJ at all. Rachel tried to convince herself that wasn't the case. Rachel looked through her rolodex, hoping to find his number. Bill had given her his card before she left. She pulled out the number and dialed.

"Law offices of Louis Morgan and Mitchell Barker, can I help you?" Maggie recognized the number on the caller ID. The call had come from the SIU. It was Rachel.

"Can I speak to Mr. Morgan, please?" Rachel had no idea what Connie had in mind, but she wanted to make sure of where things stood. She didn't know what she'd tell Harvey, besides having to admit he was right about Connie.

"I'll put you right through, Inspector Leek," Maggie was ready to connect Rachel's call when Louis stepped into the hallway. Rachel wondered how she knew who was calling, let alone her married name. "Louis, it's Inspector Leek at the SIU."

"Thanks, I'll pick it up in my office." Louis went back into his office, wondering if something had happened between now and the last time he spoke with Bill.  He nervously picked up the phone, "hello?"

Rachel looked around, Louis knew who she was but there were too many people to bother making a comment about the last name."Louis, this is Rachel McCabe..."
Rachel had to know what was going on, she couldn't expect Harvey to take on another child. She couldn't expect him to and she wouldn't ask him to unless she had to.

**
"Hey, boss --- glad to know you still spend your weekly phonecall on me." Pete knew he was walking a fine line. He had to act quickly or his window of opportunity of would be gone.

"How much longer?" He wanted to know how much more time he had in jail. If Pete didn't get the money, his shot at parole would be gone. He had work to do and needed to get out as soon as possible.

"Another week or so, I'll have the cash together.'' Pete was confident he'd get the money before Bridges could catch up with him. He had to, his life depended on it.

"You better. What's the update?" He was concerned with how things were going. One wrong move and it would be over for them both.

"Lucas is sleeping with Bridges' daughter, and your buddy Harvey Leek is on surveillance with her today." Pete wasn't sure how he would react to the news of Bridges' daughter sleeping with Lucas, but it managed to keep her distracted.

"Harvey Leek, huh?" He couldn't believe Leek was still patrolling the streets, something had to be done about that. "I'll have to pay him a visit later on."

"Leek's girlfriend is Nash's ex, and she's Cassidy Bridges' partner." Pete had done a little investigating on the cops, if he could get to Bridges' daughter and Leek's girlfriend, the boss would have no problem taking care of Harvey.

"You've just brought sunshine to my cloudy day." He laughed loudly into the phone, revenge might be easier than he thought.

**
"You're early." Rachel grinned as she saw Harvey walking outside of the barge with his coffee. She hadn't expected to see him until later on that afternoon. Rachel wasn't thrilled about him being with Cassidy all day, but it was his job to follow Nash's orders.

"Cassidy had to talk with Nash, so I suggested we come back here for lunch." Harvey had his own motives for coming back to the SIU for lunch, and being with Rachel was at the top of his list. Harvey knew she was helping Nash with Nick and the Armstrong case was getting to all of them, but he couldn't help but feel a little short-changed when it came to getting time alone with her. Harvey kissed Rachel, something he'd waited all morning to do again.

"You know, I thought of something." Rachel stepped back and paused, curious about Harvey's reaction. She hoped her efforts weren't completely obvious, or futile. "I don't think I tell you that I love you enough, I don't show you enough."

"What? Have you gone completely mad, woman?" Harvey chuckled, completely surprised by Rachel's sudden statement. He couldn't imagine where she'd get such an idea.

"I'm serious. I don't think you have any idea how much you mean to me, and I blame myself for that." Rachel couldn't help but feel as if she had been neglecting Harvey lately, between Nick and the Armstrong case she didn't have much time to spare. Harvey deserved more than she could give for the time being. Connie's call didn't help to reassure her that anything was permanent.

"Rachel, where's this coming from? I don't remember making any complaints." Harvey wanted to know what brought on this deluge of doubt. This was completely unliked Rachel. Harvey wondered if Rachel was trying a little reverse psychology, trying to drop a subtle hint or two. Then it hit him. "Wait a minute, does this have anything to do with Cassidy?"

"Not directly." Rachel gave a slight grin, Cassidy was only a partial reason for her concern. Dr. Bradley's forecase hadn't been the brightest, and she wanted Harvey to know how much he meant to her.

"You're worried about Cassidy, admit it." Harvey knew Rachel had nothing to be afraid of, Cassidy couldn't be further from his mind. He loved Rachel and he'd be sure Cassidy knew that. A small smile formed as he approached Rachel. He wanted to erase any doubts she might have.

"Maybe." Rachel's smile grew when Harvey wrapped his arms around her, "I just don't want..." Harvey silenced her with a strong, passionate kiss. Rachel was momentarily stunned and took a moment to collect her thoughts before she continued, "I just don't want you to think that you..." Harvey didn't want her to finish her sentence, worried why she would even think he'd consider leaving her for Cassidy. He held her a little  tighter and kissed her again. "Harvey! Let me finish..." Rachel wasn't angry at all about his interruptions, but she wanted him to know how she felt. "I don't want you to think, not even for a minute, that I don't want to be with you or that you're not important. I know that right now, we've got minimal time together, at best." Rachel lightly swept the curls from his forehead and gently kissed him, "You mean everything to me, Harvey Leek."

**
"Nash, I don't know what I should do." Cassidy was at odds about Lucas, he seemed so much like Evan she couldn't not be with him. She knew she had to talk to Nash about him sooner or later, her time with Harvey only made her realize how important the subject would be.

"Cassidy, when you're on my clock I need you to do your job. You can't be following someone because he looks like Evan." Nash knew Lucas was causing a problem. Nash sent Cassidy out on surveillance, but he knew her thoughts were on Lucas. That's why he wanted Harvey to go along with her.

"I know, Daddy, and I do my job. But, I... I... talked to the guy and..." Cassidy couldn't avoid explaining what else had happened. She knew the subject would come up and that Nash would be furious.

"You talked to him?" Nash shook his head in disbelief, "I don't think I want to know what you said." Nash waited a minute, allowing his mind to process. "Please tell me that it ended with talking."

"Daddy, he's so much like him. It's like I have Evan back." Cassidy was completely desolate. She needed Evan, and Lucas was the closest she had come since he died. If only Harvey could see him, they wouldn't think she had lost it.

"Cassidy, I'm not hearing this." Nash walked away from her, completely frustrated. Between Nick and Cassidy, he was ready for a complete mental breakdown. "I don't know what to tell you, I think you need to talk to someone about this."

"Well, it's obvious I can't talk to you." Cassidy stormed off down the stairs, completely infuriated with Nash for his lack of sympathy. Nash rushed to catch up with her.

"Cassidy, wait." Nash didn't know how he could help her this time. She had to let go of Evan herself, no one could do it for her.

"Harvey is the only one who'd understand." Cassidy shoved the door open and wandered outside to wait for Harvey. She couldn't be around Nash anymore. She had to talk to Harvey.

**
Nash walked up to Rachel's desk later that afternoon, he looked at the clock. "Are you busy this afternoon?"

"I've got to fax Armstrong's San Francisco crimes back to Sacramento, and I'm still waiting for a call from the chief in Sacramento." Rachel looked back at the files, "I'd like to be out of here by five-thirty."

"Five-thirty?" Nash knew she deserved to get out of there early after the hours she's been putting in. "I can do five-thirty, if you can fax the paperwork and run an errand with me."

"An errand?" Rachel was a little suspicious, but guessed it had a lot to do with Nick.

"We need to talk. I need your  help." Nash hated to need her as much as he did. Something about her allowed him to be reliant, she was there when he needed her.

"Joe's here, isn't he?" Rachel smiled, as nice as Joe was, this wasn't his type of situation.

"Thank you, Rachel." Nash didn't know what he'd be doing without Rachel around at this point. He couldn't imagine making these decisions without anyone's help. Despite how things ended with Rachel, she'd proven herself to be a true friend.

**
"Want to grab a beer after hours?" Joe followed behind Antwon as he returned to his desk from the copy machine. Joe wanted to discuss the Armstrong case with him.

"I'd love to, but I've got a date." Antwon laughed, it was a little more than a date. He was surprised when Jessie offered to come to the city for dinner.

"Oh, really?" Joe's eyes grew with interest. "A new lady love?" Joe was surprised he hadn't heard anything about Antwon's new girl via the rumor mill. He was slipping behind in his gossip.

"I met a girl when Harvey and I went to Carmel, about two weeks back." Antwon still couldn't believe his luck in meeting Jessie. Going to Carmel that weekend had been his best decision in a long time.

"Sounds serious?" Joe didn't guess Antwon for the type to fall head over heels so quickly. He wondered if he had been influenced by his partner's sudden love.

"It's getting there. We're going for dinner with Rache and Harvey." Antwon didn't want the evening to be a big deal, but he was excited about having a girlfriend to introduce.

"Oh, I remember double dating." Joe grinned, with fond thoughts of Inger running through his head. ''We'll talk later, I got some questions on the system you and McCabe set up." Joe wondered how Rachel was going to be with Antwon and Harvey at dinner while she was supposed to be looking at convalescent homes with Nash. Something would have to give.

**
Cassidy looked up and down the block before turning towards Harvey. She needed him to agree, he'd know how she felt. He didn't replace Evan with Antwon. "I suppose you think I'm crazy too."

Harvey shifted in his seat, tugging at the seatbelt. He knew this was coming. "I don't think you're crazy, I just think you should maybe get some help."

"Help? I wish it was that easy." Cassidy tried to keep herself from crying, "I don't know how to move on, I thought I was fine."

"It's not easy, and no one ever claimed it was." Harvey didn't know how to comfort her, he wanted to be a friend but worried she might see it as something else. "Evan's gone, and he'd want us to get on with our lives."

"Harvey, I slept with Lucas." She had to tell someone, to get it out of her system. Cassidy didn't feel good about what she had done.

''Wow." Harvey didn't know what to say, that was the last bit of information he expected to hear. He thought for a moment, Rachel had gone through something similiar with Ben. She knew how he felt about Evan because she'd been through it with Ryan. "Have you spoken with Rachel about any of this?"

"Yeah, right." Cassidy lowered her head so he couldn't see her tear-filled eyes. "She barely has the time of day for you, why would she make it for me?"

**
"So, what do you think?" Nash waited until they got back to the 'Cuda before he asked for her honest opinion of Peaceful Waters convalescent home. "Compared to the last two, that is."

"Nash, I can't make this decision for you." Rachel opened the door and sat down, "you know Nick better than I do, you know where he'll be happy."

"Thanks, that makes this a lot easier.'' Nash shook his head, he knew Nick wasn't her responsibility. Her presence did it fact make his circumstances easier. "Okay, if it were you."

"My father is too stubborn to ever get old and my mother and I haven't spoken since I told her I was pregnant and dropping out of med school." Rachel laughed at the irony of what she said, she knew their old age would be inevitable and she'd eventually be called upon.

"Sounds like a pleasant family gathering." Nash smiled, knowing Rachel hadn't seen either one of her parents for years.

"What does Cassidy have to say about this?" Rachel wanted to change the subject, she didn't want to discuss her parents. She wanted to know what Cassidy's imput was about her grandfather, or if she had left the decision completely up to Nash.

"Don't even go there." Nash didn't want to talk about Cassidy or what had been going on with Lucas. "Any suggestions about what I should do, advice from a someone who is also feuding with her parents."

"Trust me, you don't want my advice.'' Rachel knew it wasn't a good idea to have Cassidy working with Nash, there'd always be a blurred line between Nash's professional life and personal life. It also was a reason why she probably shouldn't have slept with Nash herself.

"I might not want to hear it, but I think she needs to.'' Nash knew Cassidy wouldn't willingly ask Rachel for help or advice, he'd have to force her to. He hoped Rachel could get through.

**
"I should probably get going." Harvey saw the time and realized he had to be at dinner in fifteen minutes. They were all meeting at six.

Cassidy sat motionless next to him, not wanting to say the wrong thing. She was hoping Lucas would pass by. "Just a few more minutes, then I'll take you back."

"Okay." Harvey couldn't disagree with her. They had watched Armstrong's movements all day and he was liable to leave as soon as they turned their heads. Harvey turned to look out the window, and sat their quietly listening as his watch ticked the minutes by.

"Maybe he'll come." Cassidy was hopeful Lucas would show up. Harvey had to see him for himself. If Harvey saw him, he'd know exactly how she felt.

"Cassidy, I can't wait around on the possibility that he might come." Harvey knew he had to get going, whether Rachel would be there or not.

"Just a few more minutes, okay?" Cassidy didn't want to plead, but Harvey had to see Lucas for himself.

"Cassidy..." Just as Harvey was about to argue, thoughts of Evan crossed his mind. He sat back and watched the street before them.

"There he is..."  Cassidy pointed towards Lucas. "Wait here." Cassidy got out of the car and went after Lucas, hoping to catch him.

"Lucas, wait up!" Cassidy just barely caught up with him at a light on the corner.

"Cassidy, I was just heading home to call you.'' Lucas planned on calling her over so Pete could make his exit.

"There's someone I want you to meet." Cassidy reached for his hand and led him back towards her car. Harvey had to meet him. Harvey raised his eyes and saw him, a mirror image of Evan.

**
"You're friends running late, or was this a set up?" Jessie laughed as she watched Antwon checking the door yet again. They had already gotten their table and had been waiting for a few minutes.

"With those two, you never know." Antwon chuckled as he saw Rachel entering, alone. "Well, there's one half..."

Rachel quickly scanned the floor for Antwon and Harvey. She instantly spotten Antwon, "sorry I'm late, where's Harvey?"

"I was just about to ask you the same thing." Antwon assumed he would be coming with Rachel. He wondered if something had gone wrong.

"He said he'd be here, maybe he's just running late." Rachel had no idea where Harvey was, she was certainly surprised she got there before he did.

"Anyways, Jessie, this is Rachel Leek --- Harvey's better half." Antwon smiled, knowing Rachel wouldn't mind the introduction. But he couldn't let it go without making a joke, Rachel was always a good target. "Or did you make Harvey take your name?"

"Nice to meet you, Rachel. Antwon has told me a lot about you." Jessie was interested to meet the woman responsible for getting Antwon out to Carmel. Rachel was already different than she expected.

"I could tell you plenty about him." Rachel looked over at Antwon and grinned, she had enough information to share. Jessie smiled, she could tell she and Rachel would get along well.

"Well look, here's Mr. McCabe now." Antwon smiled as Harvey approached the table, "and just where have you been?"

"I'll explain later." Harvey shrugged and took a seat next to Rachel, knowing he'd have to tell her what went on with Cassidy. He didn't want to make an announcement over dinner, and he didn't want to darken the mood with talking about the case in front of Jessie.

"It's good you can join us. Harvey, this is Jessie. Jessie, this is my partner, Harvey Leek." Harvey stood up an extended his hand, still embarrassed by his delayed appearance. He could feel Rachel's stare upon him. Harvey was happy she was there, but he was certain she questioned what had gone on.

**
"You want to talk, let's talk." Nash pulled out a chair for Cassidy and insisted she sit down.

"Dad, I don't want to get into this." Cassidy didn't want to discuss Lucas again. He had plans for the evening and though Harvey saw the similarities, it wasn't the same fore him.

"Well, if you won't talk about that, there's something else we have to talk about." Nash knew he couldn't put off telling her about Nick any longer. She had a right to know about her grandfather. He made his decision and she couldn't change his mind, but she deserved to find out he was going to place her grandfather in a home.

"What now?" Cassidy didn't know how much more she could take. Between work and her personal problems, her life was crumbling around her.

"It's about Nick, I've decided to put him into a convalescent home." Nash paused, "not actually a convalescent home, but assisted living." Nash was against a full convalescent home, he knew Nick wouldn't go. Assisted living had been the best option for Nick.

"Why don't you throw Nick out on the street?" Cassidy couldn't believe Nash was putting Nick in a home. "He'll live with me before I let you put him away."

"Cassidy, you're in no state to care for him and neither am I. Rachel and I think its best that he's somewhere that can give him the help he needs twenty-four hours a day." Nash figured if he brought someone else into the equation, Cassidy might be more at ease. He was wrong.

"Rachel? You went to Rachel?" Cassidy got up and pushed her chair in, "how can you do this to Harvey? How could she?" For Cassidy, the writing was on the wall. It was obvious her father and Rachel were back together again.

"Do what?" Nash shook his head, "it's not what you think. I'm not...I sought her help as a medical professional."

"You just can't stay away from her can you? And now she's convinced you to put Grandpa away." Cassidy couldn't believe the way Rachel was imposing herself into Cassidy's life. It was bad enough Rachel was her partner, this made the situation even worse. "Why are you even telling me? You made your decision, you and Rachel can break it to Grandpa." Cassidy walked towards the door, "I can't believe you."

**
"You haven't asked why I was late?" Harvey was sure Rachel would've brought it up by now. Unless something else was bothering Rachel, he knew curiousity would get the better of her sooner or later. Harvey sat down at the end of the bed, resting his head in his hands.

"I figured if you wanted me to know, you would've told me yourself." Rachel assumed something had come up with Cassidy. She trusted Harvey, but it was Cassidy she worried about. She wanted to talk to him about Connie, but Rachel knew he had something else on his mind.

"I saw Lucas today, I met him." Harvey had to tell her about Lucas, wondering if she experienced anything similar after Ryan had died.

"You met him?" Rachel was worried Lucas might have the same effect on Harvey that he had on Cassidy. She hoped Harvey could get past the similarities and move on with his life.

"He looks a lot like him, Rache. It's easy to see why she'd be distracted." Harvey knew the difference between the men, but he pitied Cassidy's falling for him and wished there was more he could do to help."Maybe I should go home, I mean, you've probably got your own problems to deal with. I've thought about Evan all day."

"Harvey, it's okay, I don't mind." Rachel put her hands on Harvey's shoulders, "I know what it's like to think you see him everyday, everywhere you go."

"I don't want to drag you through it again." Harvey was being to realize the complexities of being with another cop. She knew first hand what he had been through and what he goes through every day. Often discussions their didn't cover much more than their days spent at the SIU. He wanted their life to be more than an exchange of stories and the occasional night out.

**
"Nash?" Nick stumbled through the kitchen searching for the light switch. He felt lightheaded and queasy, "Nash?" He couldn't speak any louder, he felt a shortness of breath. He leaned against the counter, gasping for air. "Nash?"

Nick managed to find his way towards the refrigerator, opening the door for light so he could find his pills. Nick held onto the door, trying to keep his balance. The lights were hurting his eyes, he kept squinting. He tightened his grip, swinging his left arm against the shelf and then collapsing to the floor. Several wine bottles from the shelf crashed to the floor.

Upon hearing the crashing, Nash ran out of his room. Finding Nick passed on the floor, he dropped to his knees...
