EPILOGUE
"Can you imagine?" Stevenson
said, staring out the window of the mess hall into the emptiness of space.
"…An infinite number of alternate universes!!!"
"Yeah…" Tarses said, slightly
bored.
"Think about how big our reality
is then! It's the size of an infinite number of universes!" Stevenson's
eyes were almost glowing.
Tarses sighed: "I'm already
overwhelmed with the size of our own universe…Thinking about an infinite number
of them is too much for me to handle."
Stevenson nodded his understanding:
"I understand…But at least we know one thing…"
"And what's that?"
Tarses asked.
"We'll always have something to
explore…As far as we go into the future, we still won't know our reality better
than we do today…" Stevenson smiled. "It's reassuring, but also
slightly frustrating at the same time."
Tarses smiled: "Let's just hope
that we'll be free…"
Stevenson nodded: "Right…As long
as we're free…we'll be happy."
Their eyes turned to the stars
passing by the window, the stars that stretched out into the giant infinity of
the universe…
As long as we're free, we'll be
happy…
