Pray Oconee HillCemetery

This cemetery lies on rolling land next to the Oconee River. It was founded in 1856 when the old city cemetery was closed to burials. The cemetery includes the burials of many of Athens' noted citizens. Adjoining the cemetery are two smaller ones - that of the Comgregation Children of Israel and the Factory Burying Ground.
