Tiena Yistilign!
I would like to thank you for taking the initiative to galvanize support for the idea of Arengwadie Yichalal. I believe that the idea of Yichalal can be the rallying cry and embryo for a rekindled Ethiopianism, buttressing the wonderful and time honoured notion of Ethiopia as the symbol of independence and one that would met the ever growing threats facing our nation and people - internal and external, of our making or connived by our eternal enemies.
I am prepared to do whatever I can and am willing to adopt a tree. Drawing on your idea, I thought " what about having an area(s) somewhere in Ethiopia zoned off and protected and called Diaspora Natural Reserve(s) (or something more fitting) and then pouring our energies, time and resources on that or those?" It would focus our attention and would also have a symbolic value both inside and outside of Ethiopia. Maybe others would catch on the idea and extend it to "Youth", "Women" or "Alumni for this or that school" that could adopt whole forests/part or even areas that are suffering from desertification and turn that into greenery, for present and future generations?
Well, this were some of the impromptu thoughts that I had. Once again thank you for your vision and initiative and wishing all the luck in that endeavor.
Respectfully
Dr. Mekonnen Tesfahuney
