CHRISTMAS FAYRE, CHRISTMAS GIFT AND PARTY EVENING
SATURDAY 30th NOVEMBER 2002
AT ST CEDD`S CHURCH HALL, ICENI WAY, COLCHESTER
It has been decided that, instead of having the Auction again, this year we would have two events on the same day. Along the lines of the old Christmas Bazaar in the afternoon (but without too much junk!!!), no white elephant stall, stalls selling better quality goods that could be useful as Christmas gifts. Also Christmas decorations, cakes and preserves. It was suggested that we have a Father Christmas for the kids. More details later, but in meantime, start cooking and making those craft items and useful things to sell.
In the evening we will have the Christmas Gift Party as in the last two years. This is when you bring your Christmas gift in an envelope and then enjoy an evening of
entertainment, hopefully with a band, have a glass of wine or two and some Christmas mince pies etc. More details on this later also.

You will find your Gift envelopes in the magazine but they will also be available at the back of each church. Please support your church at these functions. There will be boxes at the back of All Saints and St. Cedd’s for you to place your offerings. We would be particularly pleased to receive Christmas Craft items, cakes, preserves, pickles. JANUARY 2003 CHURCH MAGAZINE ARTICLE
It is a very big thank you to all who contributed to the success of this evening, by either making gifts or cakes to sell, and for those who gave of their time and talent for auction, also to those who gave the prizes for the raffle, and made up wonderful hampers for sale and auction. Thanks to those who gave their gift envelopes in. All this wonderful effort raised a record £2,000.
The biggest thank you is to Barbara and Richard Johnson, and their band of hard-working helpers. There are many hours of hard work that goes on long before the event takes place.
