ABC Soaps in Depth- Up Close & Personal: Off To See the Blizzard
As if it wasn't bad enough that Melissa Archer (Natalie) was involved in a taxi cab collision the day before the February 17 storm that paralyzed New York City with 20 inches of snow, the actress found herself braving the blizzard itself the next morning! Recalling her trek to the police precinct to report her involvement in the accident, Archer shares, "I'm very nervous about using the subway, so I was walking in these little snow boots that come up to my [my calf] - which in that kind of snow really didn't help much!" Even so, a soaking wet Archer made her way to the precinct, then stopped off a hospital emergency room to get her possible injuries evaluated. "Now, I have to go back uptown - and I want to get bigger snow boots!" she laughs. "All the while, the snow is beating down into my face." Nearing the end of her ordeal, Archer had one last stop to make - at a pharmacy to pick up to her ER prescription - but, "I couldn't do it anymore, so I came to [the ONE LIFE TO LIVE studio] because I was so cold!" she says. "I needed to hide in warmth for a while, so I hung out there for a little bit."
