Soap Opera Weekly- All the Wrong Moves

Although best friends Jessica Morris and Melissa Archer (Jen and Natalie, One Life to Live) both love to dance, they're a little too intimidated to cut a rug in New York. "I occasionaly go to a dance class, but not that often," says Morris, who danced competitively as a youth and once aspired to be a professional dancer. "At home, I was the best in my class, but here ..." "I went to class with her and I had to leave because I was exhausted after the first hour," chimes in Archer, who likes jazz, hip-hop and ballet dancing. "And I couldn't do anything [in that hour]. I forgot everything. The only thing I had was my flexibilty." Saving face in a difficult class can take some fancy footwork. "I went to one class where all the same people went to the class every week, so they knew the combinations," sighs Morris. "And they didn't teach [the newcomers] the combinations, they just started doing them, which I didn't think was fair." What's a girl tripping over herself to do? "I had to pretend like someone was calling me on the phone and there was an emergency: 'Oh, OK, I'll be right there,'" confides Morris with a laugh.
