This short lived TV series has many mixed feeling about it, both from the media and Bette's fans. This is my opinion of the whole thing: Overall I know that the show simply wasn't good enough for Bette, the writers didn't show off the amount of talent Bette has. But I loved seeing Bette every week. I think that the show it means a lot more to a Bette fan then it would to any ordinary person, because WE know what she's referring to when she talks about Soph' or when she talks about Gypsy. I would be quite confused If I didn't know what I know about her. Understand? Many people were  frustrated at the story lines of some episodes and I was too. Bette was too good for TV. And this show simply wasn't doing her justice. One of my favourite episodes was when she was singing 'Nobody Else But You' and remembering how she meet her husband and had 'Rose' etc. etc. Even though the show wasn't too popular I don't think It should have been cancelled. Who cares how many people watch it?! Who cares that it didn't appeal to the average person?!

I think those that watched it did enjoy it. We watched it because we wanted to see more of Bette. I also don't know how much Bette enjoyed doing it...there were a lot of interviews at the stage it came out (October 2000) and I remember her saying how tough she found TV and how it was hard being in Los Angeles while her family was in New York. Anyway It's just one of those things Bette can add to her long (almost endless) list of projects in the past, she also got a few awards out of it, so I guess they made it worthwhile!
