3rd Australian Light Railway Operating Company

3980 Sapper Thomas Walter Dillon enlisted in the Australian AIF 24-10-1915 at the age of
18years and 2 months and returned 12-2-1920

Dillon lived in Granville near the town of Paramatta, New South Wales. He had a job of a Railway Porter before enlisting.
Mother was Christine Dillon Arncliffe Road Arncliffe.

Embarked 20-1-1916 and landed Alexandria 26-2-1916 on the "H.T. RUNIC"

Admitted to hospital with V.D. Gonorrhea 28-2-1916

Wounded in Action France 22-8-1916

Wounded 16-11-1916 in the field whilst with the 20th Batallion

Transferred to 17th Australian Light Railway Operating Company 16-6-1917 France

Had Leave to England 4-8-1917

Taken to Hospital Sick 13-5-1918

Taken to Hospital Gastroenteristis 24-5-1918

Taken Leave 31-8-1918

Granted Leave 11-7-1919 - 11-10-1919

Transferred to AIF Headquarters London 19-8-1919

Retured to Australia per Port Napier 21-12-1919
