Best Brownies

1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 cup granulated sugar
1tsp vanilla extract
2 eggs
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspooon salt
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Grease 9x9x2 pan.
In bowl stir together margarine, sugar, vanilla and eggs.
Beat well. Add flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt. Beat until well blended.
Fold in nuts.  Spread batter evenly in prepared pan.
Bake 20-25 minutes. Cool on wire rack.

Creamy Brownie Frosting

3 tbsp margarine
3 tbsp cocoa
1 tbsp light corn syrup or honey
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup confectioners sugar
2 tbsp liquid (milk, orange juice, water)

Beat margarine with cocoa, corn syrup, and vanilla. Blend well.
Add icing sugar and liquid. Beat until mixture is spreading consistency.
Makes 1 cup of frosting.
