Song: The Down Town Band: Days of the New Album: Days of the New (1997) Tabbed by: Brandon Leon (bleon@fisi-madison.com) I figured a different way to play The Down Town if you're interested in knowing...in Drop-D tuning half a step down. Basically the chords are the following: G F# A B 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 2 4 6 2 3 5 7 2 3 5 7 2 3 5 7 Let's just assume that those are the chords...the beginning picks the first 3 strings going B, G, A twice...then F#, and G. And the basic strumming patter after the picking is done is B-A-B-A-B-A-F# before he starts singing and then when he starts singing, it's B-A-B-A-F#(hold)-A-(and back to the beginning). The chorus is very similar...B-A-G, B-A-F#. Then there is a small bridge part where he does A-F# a few times. The way I hold the chords is I use my ring finger to hold down the first 3 strings and my index finger to hold down the 4th string. It's awkward at first, but it gives it a nice full sound.
