Ranma Saotome
Courage. Strength. Energy. Control of the life force.
When it comes to courage and strength, Ranma is second to none. No matter his opponent, he will eventually succeed and overcome all obstacles. He has faced everything from immortal Phoenix beings to princes of illusion to multi-headed, female-devouring dragons. If a competition has the words "martial arts" in it, he is more than ready to take on the challenge. There are no lengths to which he will not go in order to get rid of his Jusenkyou curse, either. He also learns techniques very quickly and shortly thereafter has complete mastery over them.
Ryouga Hibiki
Redemption through sacrifice. Enforced sacrifice. Suffering.
Ryouga is quite possibly the character that suffers the most in the series. He is Ranma's rival, yet they are almost unknowingly closer than appearances betray. Although he will always try to best Ranma, Ryouga is as honor-bound as any samurai. While he deeply loves Akane and wishes he could be with her, he knows that deep down she is in love with Ranma. This is why he gets so angry when he sees Ranma hurt her and will do anything to protect her happiness, even if means letting Ranma have her.
Rouge
Transformation. Change voluntary or involuntary, perhaps sudden or unexpected. Apparent destruction that is illusory when viewed from a higher perspective.
Like many other characters in the series, Rouge has fallen into one of the Jusenkyo pools: Spring of Drowned Ashura. Ashura is a goddess with six arms, three heads, and immense capabilities for destruction. She beat up Pansuto Tarou even when he was in his monster form. Ranma and Tarou are barely able to survive her attack before she finally powers herself down.
Natsume and Kurumi
Combination of forces. Realization. Success after elaborate maneuvers.
The two sisters had been traveling for a long time to try to find the man whom they believed to be their father, Soun Tendou. When they came to the Tendo Dojo, they believed that they had finally succeeded in finding their father after a decade of wandering. Combination of forces was found in that they almost always fought together as a team. Their realization came at the end of the episodes: Happosai was the man they met all those years ago and who pretended to be Soun.
Pansuto (Pantyhose) Tarou
Irresistibly strong and unscrupulous person. Obsession. Hard work. Endurance. Aching discontent.
First and foremost, Tarou absolutely hated his name of "Pantyhose". For years, he trained and traveled, trying to find Happosai (who christened him) in order to change his name. Anyone who called him by his first name was subject to his immediate and furious wrath. Also, because his alter-Jusenkyou form was that of a monster, he was incredibly strong and had no qualms with beating up martial artists who crossed his path. He even almost finished off Ranma!

As for that cute little baby dragon (as well as the super deformed angel elf that I use on my main pages), I got that picture from "Daemoness' Anime Haven". She has lots of cool transparent image files as well as cels and a fansubbing studio. Simply click on the banner below to go to her site:
