Hello and welcome to Farrahs page.
James and I adopted Farrah our 4 year old ferret on 5 December for my birthday. I had never had anything to do with ferrets before, because in New Zealand ferrets are still a wild free animal and you also hardly hear about them. I had quite a lot to learn about Farrah, but I have found she is adorable and very playful when she is awake.
She loves to play tag and chase with James who will
run around our apartment with Farrah 'hot on his heels'
She sleeps for long periods which we were told is very common.
She sleeps in her cage which is
very large for the size of her body.
She will burrow down under a towel or old sweatshirt
which ever (clean sheets) I have given her.
She will also burrow into any clothing left on the floor
to be washed if I am not careful and check first,
she could get an unscheduled bath!
But I do check so there has been no accidents.
We have been taking her for walks on a harness
and leash and she is quite humourous to watch
as she likes to scoot along on her belly
driving along on her back legs.
Farrah is sable coloured similar to the picture
on these graphics one of the reasons
I chose this particular background.
Also as of yet we do not have any pictures of Farrah
so will have to set to and take some to post in her pages.
She likes to lick your feet after coming out of the bath or shower,
hardly gives you time to dry off!!
Farrah loves her 'treats' pellets of chicken
which is different to her ordinary pellet food.
She answers to a bell and will come out of hiding when it is rung,
and will look up at you with the cutest of faces
waiting for you to feed her, her treat.
We have got her to stand up on her hind legs
and beg for it and she does this so well.
Farrah is very quick learning it is me who is slow
because I have just started taking her to a Ferret Club
and have been learning too on what ferrets can do.
She is so funny, I introduced her to a rubber ball
with rough coating on and she loves this ball
it is not too big for her mouth and she grabs it up with a 'hiss'
this has been the only sound she has made since we had her.
She is very quiet.
In July, our Ferret Club are holding a non
profit Ferret Olympic Games,
on 15th July at Island Park, Springfield,
Oregon. 10am until 2pm.
I am not sure what this entails yet because
of course I have never been to one nor heard
of anything like it before either.
Unfortunately I cannot go because I have returned to New Zealand.

Sad news Farrah died in her sleep, after a short illness.
