Heather awarded me this ribbon!
           Songwriters Guild

I originally thought of this idea in late summer, 2003.
Let me give you the basic run down.
This started between my best friends and I, coz we were all writing songs.
Julie would ask my opinion of songs she had wrote, and that got me thinking.
"Wouldn't it be great if there was place that we could put our songs for other people to see, and offer advice and constructive critism?"
And so the S.G. was born.
Inspiration breeds inspiration, and it's great to have a family like support group to read and offer honest comments on your lyrics.
(In my sister's case, who writes mostly poems, "comments on your poetry." But she's favored, heehee, coz she's my sister.)
Speaking of poetry, it is accepted. (:
I don't have many rules, and the few that I do are simple.
1: no "bad" things, like racism, sexually explicit lyrics, preferably no death lyrics; the stuff that your conscience would tell you not to post.
2: keep profanity to a minimum; preferably none at all.
3: critism can't be crap like "that sucks"; be constructive!!
4: the Peach Smoothies board is for banter, try to keep banter to a minimum on other boards. (But hey, who really cares, go ahead if you want to.)
The ribbon on the right was awarded to me by my very good friend Heather. Thank you so much, Hehe! I love it!

My Super Admin ribbon says:

Paving the way/ Thats what she's all about/ Saying "No way"/ When others will agree/ If you take her on/ You will find out why/They call her free/ Running wild/ Kicking up dust/ An innocent smile/ Defiance lurks behind/ No strings a must/ Clever constant mind/ And she's still running/ If you take her on/ You will find out why/ They call her free/ Here she comes/ There she goes/ Catch her, catch her, catch her - cant!/ She's untouchable/ Likely to stay that way/ Running wild/ Head tossing/ Eyes flashing/ Like lightning on the loose/ She's spirit in her boots/ Dont touch her/ Dont get her riled/ And she's still running/ Here she comes/ There she goes/ Catch her, catch her, catch her - try!/ If you take her on/ You will find out why/ They call her free/ She's untouchable/ Likely to stay that way/ But he came in/ Swaggering, jeans, & boots/ Never looks you in the eye/ He took her on/ Her mystery lighted his spark/ If you take her on (here she comes)/ You will find out why (here she comes)/ They've called her free (there they go)/ They're running wild/ Watch them go/ Step for step/ So lost in each other/ A perfect match/ They're still running/ Watch them go/They're still running/ They're running wild/ Watch them go/ Step for step/ Lost in each other/ A perfect match/ Lightning on the loose/ Sprit in their boots/ They're still run-ning/ If you take her on (here they come)/ You will find out why (here they come)/ They called her free (there they go!)/ They're running wild/ Step for step/ A perfect match/ Watch them go/ So lost in each other/ Here they come/ There they go/ Like lightning on the loose/ Spirit in their boots/ Always to stay/ Always that way/

Never was a believer/ In love at first sight/ Never had a reason/ To feel I wasn't right/ The fairy tales tell a lie/ Not all love songs speak whats true/Everything I'd been missing/ I found through you/ And I don't know how you did it/ Coz I'd sworn I'd never fall/ But at your smile, at your touch/ Love was waiting after all/ //You're my Living Proof/ I've laid my wrong ideas to rest/ You're my Living Proof/ I'd never have guessed/ That you would reach into me/ And show me how to feel/ Baby, you're my Living Proof/ That love is real// The say the road less travelled/ Probably isn't paved/ Well this territory I'm walking/ Is wild and untamed/ Walk beside me in good company/ With love as our harmony/ You can be my rhythm/ And I'll be your melody/ //repeat// Your soul, and my soul/ Two completes make a whole/ With everything unspoken/ Promises never to be broken/ //repeat//

He was a blessing, or so I thought/ I based my life around him/ Then he walked away/ I was speechless, I guess you'd say/ I should've seen it comin'/ looking back, I look ahead again/ no point living in my past/ why dwell on pain/ it only makes it last// oh, so I saw him today/ right out of the blue, like I usually do/ and it feels so good to say/ "I'm over you"// I caught the guy that pumped my gas/ looking at me that way/ well, he's cute, but not my kind/ thay say love is blind/ but I can see fine/ when they come up, I move away/ there's no point in hanging on
live for the day/ and I will be okay// whoa, so I saw him yesterday/ clear out of the blue, like I normally do/ and it feels so good to think/ "I'm over you"//  when they come up I move away/ no point in living in the past/ love for the day/ it only makes it last// oh, so I saw him the other day/ out of the blue/ like I always do/ and it felt so good to know/ "I'm over you"//

//I don't go looking for trouble/ But trouble finds me/ I say, no, no, I don't go looking for trouble, but trouble somehow finds me// Blame it on the stormclouds/ That gather where I go/ I try to find that silver lining/ But somedays it wont show/ //repeat// I dont know how it happens/ I try to be a good girl (oh, I try to be good)/ Play it by the rules/ God knows that I would/ But everywhere I set foot/ Everywhere I go/ Trouble always follows/ Wouldn't you know/ I say/ //repeat chorus and first verse// Its everywhere around me/ When I wake up in the morning/ When I lay down to sleep at night/ It follows be, listen, I say, alright/ Trouble finds me/ I don't do nothing wrong/ //repeat x 2//

You know I'll really miss you/ But it just can't work/ In many dark nights/ My regrets will lurk/ Keep pushing for the morning/ When I know you are right/ //-chorus-/ With that in my heart and mind/ I'll say goodbye/ I know your reasons/ I don't need to ask why/ Just hug me one last time/ Goodbye, goodbye/ -end chorus- //Tomorrow is dawning/ That makes it today/ I tossed and I turned/ Wishing there was another way/ If only, oh, if only/ I could make you return/ //-repeat chorus-// /-bridge-/ I feel so empty/ But there's nothing left to say/ And I don't want to be in/ Your way/ //-last chorus-/ With that in my heart and mind/ I say goodbye/ I know your reasons/ I don't need to ask why/ Just hug me one last time/ Goodbye, goodbye/ -repeat and adlib to fade-/

kicking the sand up/ this beach is vacant/ been out all night/ I'll never be the same again/ the waves keep on coming/ and I know this is the last time/ but the shoreline never sighs/ so love your addictions/ and leave me abandoned/ I can find my way home/ when you do, let's talk/ //castles in the sand/ watching the dawn/ and tearing them down/ always a new day/ always a new way/ you find to hurt me/ and build castles in the sand// calm water runs deepest/ and I always was a wild river/ but that changes nothing/ this is you, and not me/ every night of my life/ this moment will haunt me/ et tu* to you/ so love your addictions/ and leave me abandoned/ I can find my way home/ when you do, let's talk/ //castles in the sand/ watching the dawn/ and tearing them down/ always a new day/ always a new way/ you find to hurt me/ and build castles in the sand// two sets of footprints/ running different ways/ I feel you look over your shoulder/ and crumble like our castles/ I will not look back, though my heart isn't with me/ so love your addictions/ and leave me abandoned/ I can find my way home/ when you do, let's talk/ when you do, we'll talk/ //castles in the sand/ watching the dawn/ and tearing them down/ always a new day/ always a new way/ you find to hurt me/ and build castles in the sand// /repeat to fade/

*et tu means "you too" in latin

lay-offs always proved/ that sooner or later/ the time would come and we would have to move/ E.I. just wasnt enough/ to get by on/ when the factory closed/ we called that bluff/ The house was brick/ The barn was wood/ My room was washed white/ The stalls were large/ and the pond was deep/ Our land stretched out of sight/ Just gone into town/ Driving on my own/ Typical day in August/ School would soon be back in/ Couldn't wait to begin the starting of the fall/ Stetson didn't conceal your face/ I lost the time and place/ and I stood there on the walk/ You saw me standing there/ and we started to talk
//You know me/ I've never met you/ You know me/ but how, I just dont know/ You know me and I sure have fallen fast// I cooked supper/ Mom talked with him on the front porch/ How we'd come to here/ And Dad's new job/ We rode the horses after supper/ Through the fields/ I couldn't believe how we hit it off/ Like I'd known him all my life/ //repeat and adlib to fade//

//I can't believe you'd do this to me/ That you would make me cry/ I can't believe that you left me/ Without even saying goodbye// When I heard that you left me/ And you're never coming back/ My whole world fell apart/ It crumbled at the seams/ The sky darkened/ My world turned grey And all the plans we'd made/ In an instant, they were gone/ Now I can't find my way/ //I can't believe you'd do this to me/ That you would make me cry/I can't believe that you left me/ Without even saying goodbye// How could you leave me like this?/ Will you ever know?/ I feel so empty without you/ To have, oh, and to hold/ Not a word was spoken/ Not a final kiss/ I can't believe you, how could you do it?/ How could you leave me like this?/ //I can't believe you did this to me/ And all the nights I've cried/ I can't believe you would leave me/ I can't believe you died//

Gold and silver horses/ Painted in the dawn/ Galloping, galloping/ With a rumble that stretched on/ We didn't care when the rain washed down/ We laid there all day/ He told me three words/ There was no sweeter sound/ Under that/ //Thunder Sky/ We laid down to watch the clouds roll by/ We buried our hearts in that field of clover/ Love went on for miles/ We said us forever// Laughing and napping/ 'Til the cows came in/ I slept in his arms/ It was enough to let the earth spin/ We didn't care when the sun went down/ We watched the stars come out/ He sang to me/ There was no sweeter sound/ Under that/ //repeat// -instrumental break-/ -bridge-/ Everything broken, all thats undone/ It takes me back/ When I see the sun/ In that/ //repeat twice, adlib to fade//

Years from now/ Will they tell our tale/ Be it the way we would/ The days we spent/ Though not long ago/ I'll keep as a secret friend/ Yes, the doors that you opened/ Have been laid to rest/ Years from now/ Oh, years from now/ Pour the dust from the sky/ Like the tears from your eyes/ Let the shadows call/ Oh, just the voices in my heart/ Like the sky split open/ Are heros forgotten/ Though we're worlds apart/ You're with me still/ People fight for many things/ For love, for wealth, for gain/ Even when Great Wars have passed/ The memories remain/ Did we change the world/ Did we bridge the gap/ Years from now/ Oh, years from now/ In long forgotten halls of glory/ Secrets motives will rule/ When even love has its limits/ Oh, that is our story/ Years from now/ Oh, years from now/ Pour the dust from the sky/ Like the tears from your eyes/ Let the shadows call/ Oh, just the voices in my heart/ Like the sky split open/ Are heros forgotten/ Though we're worlds apart/ You're with me still/ The forms we choose/ The lives we live/ And the innocence we lose/ The paths we cross/ The world of time/ Are circles on my soul/ The hope we have/ The pain we bear/ Is the little that we know/ Years from now/ Oh, years from now/
