In an envelope without a stamp/A little girl's hopes and dreams were sealed/ She hoped to find her daddy/ So they could be best friends/ She knew her daddy and mommy had had a fight/ A strange woman ran out of their house one night/ She didn't know what it was about/ But she certainly heard her parents both shout/ Next thing she knew/ She didn't know what to do/ As she watched her daddy/ Drive away/ So here she was that day/ Thinking bout what to say/ Then she wrote from her heart/ Missing her daddy, feeling the pain/ Of being apart/ And she wrote that letter/ She knew her grammer shoulda been better/ But she hoped her daddy could make it out/ And knew what it was all about/ She hoped to find him/ That letter meant so much to her/ In a seven year old's handwriting,/ This is what it said: *chorus*"Dear Daddy/ I love and miss you/ I hope you love and miss me too/ I just want you to come home/ Or at least please call me on the phone/ Last I knew Mommy's still mad/ But if you came home I'd be real glad/ So some day if you can/ Pick up a pen/ And tell me you're coming back/ Without you I'm really sad/ But please don't feel bad/ 'Cause you can fix it, you'll see/ If you just come home for me/ Xs'n'os, love, Chelsea"// She addressed that letter to My Daddy/ Home address, I don't know but/ Somewhere in the USA last I knew/ She copied Winner the Pooh/ As she'd seen them do/ She let her letter fly away/Into the wind/ Hoping it'd find her daddy/ Some Day/ She waited a long long time/ For her daddy to come/Some Day/ But that day never came/She cried every night/ With sadness and shame/ Wondering what she did/ And why her daddy never came/ Some Day/ That letter, though no one ever knew it/ Blew around in the wind for a day or so/ And a little bit by bit/ The wind and rain/ Caused that little girl's letter and heart pain/ That little girl grew up/ feeling bitter and sad/ towards her dad/ Why he never came/ Christmas just wasn't the same/ She never knew what became of her father/ But she thought/ why should she bother/ Why should she hold out hope/ Figuring she was such a dope/ He obviously didn't care/ Life just wasn't fair/ But
somewhere/ Still in the USA/ That envelope without a stamp is blowing 'round/ Although it was never truly found/ Its still there/ In the hearts of other children/ *repeat chorus*//

"BENEATH THE SURFACE"

We're all hiding from the world/ Looking for a place where we belong/ Something that we can call our own/ But its so hard to live/ When the world beats you down/ Taking all the things you have/ But its all beneath the surface now/ We no longer have to worry/ About the way things could turn out to be/ *chorus* Because we're falling/
Falling/ Falling/ Falling in love// How can we know what to feel/ We have hidden away for so long/ But in the end we need each other/ Because we can't hold it all in/ Wondering if it was ment to be/ But love has a way of making us see/ We can't hold on much longer/ Keep it all beneath the surface/ *repeat chorus*//It seems like it was ment to be/ That we should find each other/ When it all looks so far away/ Just saying I love is never enough/ But its the way I feel/ When falling in love with you/ It just feels like a dream/ I never want to wake/ When its all beneath the surface/*repeat chorus*//

"I dont wanna leave"/ Is what you whispered/ As you wiped away my tears w/ yur sleeve/it would be our last kiss under the moon/ School would be starting soon/ You said I should forget you/ But I knew it was something I just couldn't do/*chorus* I sit here in the rain/Tryin' not to go insane/ I remember every kiss we shared/ I can't believe love was so unfair/ All I can think to do is cry/ As I remember our first goodbye// I couldn't tell you/ And still you knew/ You were the one/ I think back on all the fun/ I can't believe I ever had a doubt/ About the way you felt/*repeat chorus*
