On Saturday, April 5th, the worst of the storm was over and clean up began. We still had no power as we woke up early to survey the damage.

There were trees limbs all over the place.

The ground looked as if an ice cube dispenser had gone haywire!

Fortunately, none of the trees had falled over.

They had just lost lots of branches.

The temperatures started to rise, and the ice began to melt.

The trees took a terrible beating.

But my pansies still survived. :)

The trees needed a good trimming anyhow!

We still had no power, so we went to the store for more batteries and propane.

By the time we returned, most of the ice had melted.

We had power again by ten o'clock, but it went off again at noon. We were fortunate that it was restored by five, and only went out intermitantly after that. Many people in the area were without power for almost a week.
