Thought of the day:
*I used to have a handle on life, but it broke*

This week's questions: Potpourri

  • 1. Which television series do you think had the best final episode?
  • The first one that comes to mind is M*A*S*H*. More often that not, when I watch a final episode, I'll think that it wasn't worth waiting for, and I'll have a lot of ideas of how it could have been done differently. But, with M*A*S*H*, it was different. It brought a conclusion to the war, and brought up a new conflict of people that had been like family for so long, suddenly being seperated, and left it open for a spin-off series and reunion episodes in the future. It was a very well written final episode.

Did anyone watch The Apprentice finale last week? I felt it wasn't worth all the hype. Yes, it was interesting to see who won after 13 weeks, but once they opened up the screen to the live audience, it was pretty stupid. It was nice to see Troy again, though. I felt he should have won, and he may be back next time.

    2. Do you own something that you really should throw away but can't part with?
  • "Throw away"...no, but, "give away", maybe. I have clothes that are too small that I hope to get back into someday, and nicknacks that I don't really need, but have some sort of sentimental value, in one respect or another.

    3. Would you be willing to spend a night alone in a house that is supposedly haunted?
  • I think I'll pass on that one. Even if it's not really haunted, there may be some pyschopath living there.

    4. Go back to your childhood ... What did you want to be when you grew up?
  • I had fleeting thoughts of becoming a nurse, a vet, and a teacher when I was very young.

    5. What do you need to make your favorite pizza?
  • For the last few years, my favorite has needed ham, pineapple and good black olives on top of lots of cheese, good sauce and a tender crust(not too doughy and not to crisp). But, I'll eat just about any kind of pizza. Just please hold the anchovies, and hold the pepperoni.
Now I'm hungry for pizza...! We had Domino's pizza at Kim's Friday night when we went over to help her get ready to move. She order a pepperoni pizza before we arrived, and I actually liked it. I think it was because the pepperoni wasn't greasy like it is on most pizzas.

Kevin, John and I also spent yesterday helping her move. Kevin and John carried the heavy stuff and disassembled at her old house and reassembled things at her new house. The boys wanted Nick Tahoes' garbage plates, so Kim and I went to get take out. I didn't see the attraction of a garbage plate, and ended up ordering just a hamburger and fries.
    Job Search Update:
Nothing new here. I still know way too many people that are job searching, so please continue sending me job leads. Kevin still hasn't found any work to help him out while he waits to go back to his contract job.
    Spring:
The weather was wet and chilly at the beginning of the week, but it got warmer by Thursday, and it was near 70 today. There's a saying in Rochester that goes something like, "if you don't like the weather, wait a few minutes..". today was a perfect example. It started out sunny and a little chilly, suddenly got very dark and stormy. We had a major thuderstorm with hail and high winds, then it calmed down and get sunny again, and the temperature went up near 70. It's warm enough for mosquitos to be out!
    MacKenzie Update:
MacKenzie is crawling now. I thought she was going to skip crawling, and go straight to walking, but she realized she can go places faster by crawling than rolling, and now she's constantly on the move.
Other updates: John recovered from being very sick, but now my Mom is sick, in addition to my Dad still being sick. The alternator died on my Saturn Tuesday, and we had to borrow money from my Dad to get it repaired. Otherwise, I would have no way to get to work. Life is just full of challenges, isn't it?

    Thanks for reading!
