Last night, I couldn't get to sleep at all.
A combination of having coffee late in the evening (that's a no no!), and having the movie, Perfect Storm, going through my head.
Despite the movie being from 1990, this was the first time I had seen it.
It is an intense movie, based on a true story.
Was it the intenseness of the movie, or just the vision of George Clooney dying, that kept the movie going through my head until the wee hours of the morning?
I kept thinking that if they hadn't turned the boat around to go back, would they have made it?
If the freezer hadn't died, and they hadn't been in such a hurry to get back, would they have survived?
If the coast guard helicopter hadn't run out of gas, would they have been rescued?
If, if, if...
Of course, no one knows what exactly happened out there, but it makes me wonder if they were destined to be lost at sea no matter what transpired.
Is that what life is all about? ... A journey where no matter what your choices or what path you take to get there, the things that are out of your control will take you to your final destination?
On to Other Things...
The Buffalo Bills had an excellent game again today with
an impressive 42 to 32 victory against the Miami Dolphins. Yeah, I know, Miami has the worst record in the AFC, I think purposely, so they can get the best draft pick, but Miami is Buffalo's arch enemy, and this game was played on Miami's home turf.
I can't decide whether the best play of the game was the 104 yard kick off return by Terrence McGee to start the game, or the interception return by Williams to seal the win in the last quarter.
Go, Bills!
