Quote of the Day:
"The bad news is time flies. The good news is you're the pilot."
-- Michael Althsuler

So, what have I been doing for the past couple of months that has made time fly?
Well, besides the everyday working, cooking, cleaning, eating and sleeping, I've been having fun reading, watching movies, yard work, and spending just over a week visiting family in Florida.

At first, there was the clean up from the ice storm. I couldn't pick up the large limbs that fell, but there were hundreds of smaller branches all over the yard.

The weather became nice enough to hang laundry out to dry. A lot of people do not like drying their clothes outdoors, because some items dry stiff. I just toss those items in the dryer for a few minutes to get them fluffy again. While it takes more time to hang everything, I'm doing my part to conserve energy, and saving money, too.

The sun started setting later in the day, so there was more time to spend outdoors. One of the things I love about Spring and Summer is being able to drive home from work while it is still daylight!

We bought Bunnee a larger home, so she could hop around more, while I was at work. The picture below doesn't do it justice. It is much bigger than it appears. She has plenty of room to chase her favorite ball around in circles.

The pansies from last year were coming up fine, but there was still a lot of work to do on the flower beds. Last fall's leaves and early weeds had to be removed even though it was still a little early to plant anything but hardy flowers.

One of the bad things about Spring, is the beginning of road construction. I've heard somewhere that there are only two seasons in upstate New York: Snow Plowing Season and Road Construction Season. (lol)

I usually work through my lunch, but my friend, Terry, encouraged me to go out to lunch with her. We went to a deli where they have unusual combinations of sandwiches. One of them was turkey and asparagus! Unfortunately, they didn't have peanut butter and banana, so I went with a Tuna and Swiss combination, that was piled high with vegetables, including cucumber slices. Mmmmmm!

It's a cute little place across from Eastview Mall. Speaking of Eastview Mall, I can not believe they are expanding it! During the summer months, the stores are practically empty. what do they hope to accomplish by doing more construction???? Oy!!!

I decided to get my hair cut short before going to Florida. My hair is very coarse (thick) and I had it shoulder length for some time now. I felt it was time for a change, so I had them layer it and cut it short. How short, you ask? This short:

Actually, it's time to get it trimmed again, because it's 2 inches longer now, than in the picture above. After I got my haircut, another employee approached me, asking me if she knew me from somewhere. She even thought I might have been one of her son's teachers. I had no recollection of her at all, until she recalled that we worked together about 6 years ago. It's a small world, after all! It seemed like a lifetime ago, and I barely recalled any details from working there. Funny, how I have better recall of the people that I worked with 10 years ago than I do of just 6 years ago. It's like those 6 months I worked there faded into nothing....

For Easter, Kevin and Ashley came over and brought me a rose bush. ("So the flowers won't wither up and die and you can have roses forever") There was an empty spot in front of the front porch, so that's where it went. 6 weeks later, and it's starting to bud already.

April ended on a sad note with Amy leaving the company.

She decided it was best to stay home with her children. The world is such a crazy place, I don't blame her. I wish I could have stayed home more with my son. She brought the kids in, to pack her office and say goodbye. We miss her, though!

May started on a happy note, though, because we went on vacation to Florida..... Stay tuned for more details and more pictures....

Thanks for reading!
