About the music
Combining the essentials acoustics of pre-Columbian  Andes, elements of jazz and rock  music,  Ambaibo is essentially a fusion and an expression of the  ethnic with contemporary rhythms, which combined aims to represent the constantly progressively development of today’s World Music.

Distancing itself from all forms of musical purism in their choice of timbres and treatment of melodies, the group mixes arrangements of traditional compositions with their own original works.

Ambaibo uses Andean traditional instruments such as the Sikus (panpipes) and Kena flutes supported by African and Andean drums blended with western instruments such as electric and bass guitars, a music that is both uplifting and exotic is yielded. Ambaibo‘s repertoire evokes sounds of the distant beats and passions of ancient cultures blended with contemporary sounds and rhythms.

The music of Ambaibo gracefully reflects the multicultural life of a city such as London, where the fusion is vivid experience.

About the group

Founded in 2003, the group adopts the name of a tree from the Amazons, where the sounds of nature, flora and wildlife in their natural habitats also compose a natural symphony.

Ambaibo was formed by a group of musicians from various musical and cultural backgrounds interested in developing and exploring new sounds, combining their experiences and influences in an attempt not only to create a platform for multicultural and environmental exploration, but also to have the opportunity to offer to their audiences the richness of their music.

Ambaibo has participated in large number of music festivals and cultural events, such as Festival of Peace, Carnaval del Pueblo, Thames Festival, Native Spirit Festival, among others expanding their musical knowledge and exchanging experiences with other musicians from different nationalities, bringing to their European audiences the telluric sounds of the Andes and the indomitable energy of the Amazon. At present, Ambaibo is in the process to launch its first CD.
