12/14/06

- Library Christmas Project: Sat., Dec. 16th from 2-4 PM (meet at 1:45) at the public library. We'll be reading, singing, making crafts, and doing lots of other fun things for children.
- Toys for Tots: Sat., Dec. 23rd from 8-12 PM. Meet at the public library at 7:15. This project involves packaging and boxing gifts. We need RIDES!!! If you could help that woud be wonderful :)

- Food Fair: Wednesday, Jan. 17th. We'll be selling Del Taco's Chicken Soft Tacos. Come by and support us!

- Come support our school's Project Angel Tree! Just drop by Uncle Sam's Dugout at lunch, get an angel tag off the tree and sign-up with your name, buy a needy person a gift for the holidays, and turn it into Uncle Sam's (unwrapped) by Dec. 15th!
- Thank you for participating in our candy sales! Points will be updated later.
- There is a project at HOPE on Sat., Dec. 2nd from 10:15 AM to 12 PM! We're meeting at the library at 9:45. Limited to 15 volunteers! You must have your application on Saturday when you come.
- Please keep in ind that we will have projects for the next 2 Saturdays and are in need of rides. If you could please ask your parents for rides in general for the future, that would be greatly appreciated.

- Thanksgiving Food Drive: Saturday, Nov. 18th from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Pleas show up at the public library on time. We can only guarantee the first 14 people rides. We will call everybody on Friday night (tomorrow) to confirm if you can attend. Remember to bring your permission slip on Saturday in order to participate. Rides would be much appreciated!
- Candy Sales deadline is Friday Nov. 17th; please turn in the money to room E6 at lunch on Monday Nov. 20. Thank you to all who participated!
- Points and pictures have been updated; check them out!

- Acacia Project on Thusday 11/09/06 CANCELLED.
- We are planning a project for next Sat. from 10-1 PM at a Food Drive (in honor of Thanksgiving). We still need to confirm the project, but space is limited so if you want to come please sign up ASAP at the next meeting!
- Anyone who has turned in their application for the UCLA trip is guaranteed to go. You must bring a valid photo ID in order to board the bus. Enjoy the trip!
- Candy Sales will be from Nov. 13th through the 17th. If you're a member, feel free to pick up bag(s) of candy (each worth $10) to help our club fundraise. If you have friends that you trust who can help us sell candy, we would appreciate it a lot. You can pick up a bag on Monday at lunch. We will be in E6 the entire week if you'd like to turn in bags or pick up more. Thank you!

- There will be no project this weekend. However, there will be a project at Acacia next Thursday (Nov. 9) from 3-5 PM. Meet at the Argohead at 2:50 PM after school.
- The trip to UCLA is on Satuday, Nov. 11th. If you have already turned in your application, you're welcome to go and details will be announced later. (There may be a meeting about UCLA next week. Be sure to listen to announcements!)
- Candy Sales will be from November 13th through the 17th. Please pick up a candy bag on Monday, the 13th, in room E6 at lunch. Remember, the more points you sell the more points you earn!
- We are still accepting applications and fees (see previous update).
- Old Business: Thank you for participating in our Civic Park Clean-up. Hope you enjoyed it!

- Thank you to all who have participated in helping us raise money for Food Fair!
- There will be a joint project with Environmental Club this Satuday, October 28th at Civic Park (the park behind the public library) from 8-12 PM. Please meet us in front of the library at 8 AM. You need to turn in a permission slip for this project. There will be an informational meeting on Friday, Oct. 27th in room C17 during lunch. You can turn in your permission slip with your guardian's signature then or on Saturday, or pick one up if you haven't yet.

- If you turned in your application, you may go on the UCLA trip. - We will be having our candy sales in 3 weeks! (November 13-17) You can sell to your friends, family, church, etc. Keep a look out for more info.!
- Please turn in your club application and $3 fee ASAP. Remember, you will not get points or community service horus until you turn those in. Speaking of which, points and the official member roster have been updated! (see Points page)

- Applications and $3 club fees were due today! If you forgot to bring them you can still turn them in later, but points for meetings and events will only count from the date you turn them in. (Also, you may not attend projects that require rides.) Please turn them in soon! =)
- Yorba Regional Park Project (Saturday, 10-21-06 from 9-12 PM, *meet in front of library @ 8:00 AM.) - Meeting Friday 10-20-06 at lunch in Mrs. Faura's room, C17, to pick up permission slips and receive important information about the project. If you can't come to meeting, click HERE for APPLICATION. Bring them completed on Saturday. As always, rides would be much appreciated! :)
- UCLA Campus Visit with Viet Club - Everyone who turned in an official application (passed out at our emergency meeting on Sept. 29th) can come! :) (If there are any more available seats on the bus we will let you know.)
- Food Fair - Next Wednesday, 10/25. We will be selling Carl's Jr. Spicy Chicken Sandwiches for $2 each!!! Come and support our club!

- Pictures of Friday's Acacia Project are up! Check it out in the Pictures page!!! Thank you for coming to our Acacia project. All members had fun.Those who stayed for the entire time received 1.5 hours of community service and club points.

Old Project Discussion: CDC Food Bank on Sept. 23 was a great opportunity for members to experience community service. The project went well and turned out great. All members worked very hard! They've earned community service hours as well as points toward the club. Thank you so much for coming to help out. Pictures of Food Bank Project are up! Check out the Pictures page!!!

Ambassador Meeting of last week (Thursday Oct 5) was cancelled due to the number of students participating in the CST Results Raffle.

Please turn in your application with the $3 fee by next Thursday; we have new projects and events coming up and we can't grant you points if you don't turn in your application, even if you participated in the project.

Members who turned in their applications & fees will have their names on the Points System page.

UPCOMING PROJECT: This Friday we will volunteer at Acacia from 3-5 PM after school. Acacia is a daycare center for the elderly across the street from GGHS. We will be doing some Halloween-related activities and helping out. Meet at the public library at 2:50. See you there!

First Ambassador Meeting & Orientation: Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006 in Mr. Griffin's Room, # E6
Welcome to the Ambassador Club. Welcome all new freshmen of Garden Grove and returning students. Last year, we did an excellent job of fun activities as well as involvement in many kinds of community service. We are looking forward to a better year this time. So come and join Ambassador Club; all Argonauts are welcomed!!!
