Universities should only
require students to attend academic advising if they are new to the campus, it
is there first year, they are having to be placed on academic probation, or if
they are preparing for graduating.
1) The second year college students should be able to
make decisions about their education on their own.
2) Academic advisers do not pay much attention to the
student’s educational background or take the task of advising a student
seriously.
3) Advising takes time from the student and also the
adviser.
