In July 2004, we added a new bobcat kitten to our family. This time, it is a boy and we named him Boris. At first we thought, are we crazy? What would it be like living with 2 bobcats running around our home? Well, for Amber's sake, it was one of the best things we could have done. Not only is Boris a beautiful, wonderful addition to our bobcat family, he is the purrrfect playmate for Amber. All I can say is this, for Amber, it was love at first sight! Please check back soon for more updates on Boris!!
Well, it is now May of 2005 and Boris has sure grown. He has become such a loving boy and is Amber's best friend. So, now I must tell you what it is really like to live with 2 bobcats in our home. When they get to playing and running around, you would think we have horses in our house. Of course, anything that you value MUST be put away or it more than likely will be broken. A typical day is like this. Amber and Boris wake up at about 5AM and want to be fed. You say you want to sleep in? Forget it!! Boris will see to it that you are awake. He will jump on the bed and on us. So, they get fed and are now ready to play. Their rambunctious house wrecking antics go on for the next couple hours, then they are off to sleep. This repeats itself again in the evening. They are usually fed between 6PM and 8PM. They will play some more and then usually sleep until morning, that is until their 5AM alarm clock goes off and then it's house wrecking time all over again. Yes, living with these wonderful exotic cats is a lot of work and a great deal of RESPONSIBILTY. But, to be loved by a bobcat is something my wife and I will not give up for anything. News Flash!! We have been accepted as the new parents to a 3 year old, wonderful male bobcat. He is a RESCUE from an IRRESPONSIBLE owner. My wife and I are dedicated to providing him with a home filled with lots of love and RESPONSIBLE care. More on this soon, so check back again. Please check out the links as well, there is a lot of information here. Thank You!! |
