My Testimony Page
I can honestly say that God has always been in my life.
I just didn’t realize just how much He was with me, or even
how much He loves me so. I am truly blessed to be called His.
From the time I was very young I was raised till the 7th
grade Catholic. Very strict and very much made to feel guilt
and shame. When I was about 22 yrs old my Mom had come to
know the Lord in a personal way and she wanted me to know
Him as well. She talked or should I say preached at me so
much that I had to tell her (now I am ashamed to say) that
I didn’t want to hear about Jesus that if she mentioned His
name I would be sick. How sad now that I look back but it
was only because I didn’t have that personal relationship
with Him. One night my mom and dad and brother as well as my
hubby all went out to do their work (they cleaned offices
at the time)it was late and I was left alone with my daughter
Valerie she was about 1 ½ yrs old (she is now 24 yrs old.)
I know that there is a lot of Christians as well as non-
Christians that make fun of Paul and Jan Crouch on TBN but
I have to say that they do the Lord’s work. Because of me
going through the channels on the TV I came upon Jan speaking
about something that touched my heart and took me to my knees
I gave my heart to the Lord that night and never looked back.
God has so blessed me. Since then I had moved from Arizona to
California. I found out I was pregnant in 1980. In October of
1980 I found out I was carrying twins! I went to church every
Sunday till I had my boys then I couldn’t go cause I had no
one to go with me and help with my 3 small children so
eventually I stopped going. I never stopped loving the Lord
and I knew He was watching over me..
When my boys were about 13 yrs old we took Valerie their sister
and my lovely daughter to roller skating rink to celebrate
her 16th birthday that is where my Son Jack met an old school
friend by the name of Gia. She invited them to church which
wouldn’t you know it was about 5 minutes from my home. I took
my boys faithfully every Sunday Morning and evening and then
on Wednesday night as well dropped them right off at the front
door and picked them up. And each time Jack would say "won’t you
please come in mom?" and I would reply NO! :0) Then it would
spill over to listening to the radio. We listened to KFROG and
he wanted to listen to KLORD now Air One. SO I finally told him
ok 15 minutes you have that long and as soon as it was over Bam!
Then right back to KFROG. Well finally after almost a year of
Jack asking and Jack and Chip and the Youth Pastor & His Wife
(Gabe & Michelle) and the whole youth group(10 Young Adults
ages 10 to 18) praying for us. We finally came to church and
in about 2 weeks Valerie gave her heart to the Lord and I aslo
decided to redidicate my life. Praise The Lord!
In 1995 I came to a church that for the first time opened my
eyes and heart to God. I mean, I was learning soooo much!!!
When I first got saved I guess I wasn’t mature as an adult
and was far from the spiritual maturity that is still growing.
I had been told about getting involved in church. But I thought
that after I was saved my omly duty was to go to church on Sunday
Mornings and that was it. It wasn’t until I had been going to a
church for awhile when a co-worker of mine shared with me at
lunch about what we learned from church. So about after about a
month of sharing I thought WOW what am I learning? Maybe a
sentence from the bible and not much of anything else.
That is when the Holy Spirit directed me to my co-worker's
church named New Beginning’s. That co-worker is now one of
my best friend’s. Another friend of mine came to know the Lord
and needed a church to call home, so I offered to go with her.
So I went with her until she found a church she could call home.
God is good! I thought it was me directing, ha, He had other
plans when I went with her to New Beginning‘s and that is where
we now call home. After going there, Kelli and I went to a
Saturday women's fellowship. One of the leaders came over and
introduced herself and starting sharing all about Women's
Ministry and about the Women's support group. She said she
went and we were welcomed to go too. Guess who that lady
was? Yes you guessed it, Susie! Since then we have all become
friends. The Lord brought me to a church, directed me to the
beginning of Emotional healing from my past, and encouraged me
to become involved in the women's ministry (of course with a
little nudging from Miss Susie. God has done lots of work in
all of us and He sure isn't finished with us yet!
My hubby Cliff loves it there too and we are involved in several
ministries together and I never thought that would happen. We
also have been involved in setting up the marriage groups. As I
mentioned of the Women’s support groups,(not called Recovery
Groups)I have been able to get healing with a lot of childhood
dysfunctions.God has taken something that was meant to be bad
and used it for total good and to His glory!!!
Well now it is July of 2002 and it is amazing the work the Lord
has done. Well if you would like to know more or have questions
that maybe I can help you with then please feel free to email me
anytime. I praise God for all He has done for me and my family!
