| While doing the restoration work wiriting was discovered one the wall above the pulpit. Painted in yellow is: "Glory to God in the highest and On Earth Peace, Good will toward men" Painted in Blue is: "A MERRY CHRISTMAS! HAPPY NEW YEAR!" It was an interesting puzzle to unravel as most of the letters were under plaster, paint or old wallpaper. There has been no explaination to why these were painted on the wall. But photograpic evidence from the mid-1800's show's that some churchs had the Glory to God quote painted over the pulpit. |

| Also discovered on opposite walls were the words, "In God We Trust" and "Welcome" , both painted in yellow. In God We Trust first showed up on money during the Civll War but had been used in churches before that. so this could date to when the church was first built in 1851 or have been added later. But again it was found under layers of plaster, etc. in some spots. |
