ON JON BENET RAMSEY
America is an increasingly violent place. It is especially violent for
women and girls. Femicide,
sexism, elitism and racism are realities. Rapes and murders happen
everywhere everyday.
Usually, the monsters who prey upon us are found and prosecuted. Rarely
are such monsters ever
white or rich enough to be perpetually free (See “Girl X” herein)...
I pray for the souls of JonBenet; of Sherrice Iverson (See “Sherrice
Iverson” herein); of the
countless dead, poor, dark-skinned Black babies strewn all over Atlanta,
Georgia (See “Atlanta Child Murders” herein); of baby sisters
being genitally mutilated in the name of tradition in India and Africa
and the USA; of Asian girl
infants being orphaned by sexism and population control; of Indian
girls being murdered to
avoid the costs of dowries and Indian wives being torched as avenues
to better dowries, where
sexist murder is more honorable than divorce; and for the stolen lives
of the child brides of
global pedophiles etc... I pray for these collective eternally wounded
souls daily. I ponder the
lessons of their timeless suffering. As I pray today, I ponder the
following:

If the Ramseys really believed that JonBenet’s killer
was on the loose, would they not be holding press conferences to demand
that this case remain open in Boulder? Would they be searching for this
killer only as jokingly as O. J. is searching for the killer of Nicole
Brown and Ron Goldman?

If the Ramseys were innocent, would they not be attacking
the Boulder police department as viciously as they attack people who accuse
them of molesting and killing their own child?
-
If kidnapper’s were ever really trying to blackmail
the Ramseys, why did they leave a corpse behind? Were they so ignorant
that they did not understand that this would blow all chances for ransom
from the start?
-
Why would any terrorists simultaneously insult and
disempower themselves by penning a note which reads “We are a small foreign
faction...”?
-
Why have I not seen this case repeatedly re-enacted
on “America’s Most Wanted?”
-
Why would anyone who can plot such an elaborate murder
forget such minute details as bringing their own ransom note paper, or
penning that ransom note in advance of entering the target’s home, or forget
to enclose the pages of that note in an envelope?
-
Where is the grief that any parents would feel at
such a horrid loss? Why can’t I see any modicum of genuine grief on the
peculiar visages of the Ramseys? Like O. J., they seem more concerned
with the rotting of their reputations rather than the rotting corpse of
their loved one.
-
Why would any family as wealthy as the Ramseys not
have immediately paid a team of the world’s best private detectives to
solve their child’s murder case rapidly?
I truly believe that if John and Patsy Ramsey were poor or Black
they would be decorating their
cells for Christmas on death row. Historically, numerous trials have
proven that rich people can
buy freedom from any crime. No matter who is murdered. No matter how
sloppy. No matter how
senseless.
I will keep praying for JonBenet and all the other murdered babies globally...I
pray that all of
their killers will be found and prosecuted. I pray that all of
their spirits will find eternal peace.
And, I pray that their eternal souls will live on in a superior place.
Where there are no predatory
monsters anywhere. Not even in their own homes...
