Blatant evidence abounds: Michael Jackson silenced a molestation, in a criminal file that remains open, by opening his wallet. Phil Spector executed an unruly one night stand and was excused by a "mistrial". Robert Wagner was barely even asked to explain how Natalie Wood strangely drowned, just weeks before he wed her best friend. Until recently, it seemed that Robert Blake was being similarly coddled, regarding the bold and public execution of his wife. O. J. Simpson paid a dream team to help him brazenly escape his sloppy double murder. William Shatner was never even asked to explain why he left his spouse floating like driftwood in his pool as he dialed 911...Countless musicians are allowed to peddle porno musicals as videos to children, who are baby pimps and hos in training. And, now, R. Kelly is on film, proving that all those rumors about him being a seasoned pedophile were whisperings of truths.

I have received hate mail because of my belated comments on R. Kelly. It deeply pains me to condemn a man whom I adore as an artist. I apologize for my grievous delay. As a lesbian, I have empathy for anyone crucified by others who dare to judge them. For the record, I condone sex exclusively between consenting adults. I am 38 and monogamous. My lover of over six years is 53. Neither of us has ever molested a child. There is a time for everything, even a time to judge. I have the right to judge R. Kelly. And, those who are righteous will join me as I do so now.

In clinical textbooks, pedophiles are defined as adults who have sex with children under age 13. Yet, 13 year olds are never adults. Thus, in the real world, pedophiles are adults who have sex with anyone who is not a fellow adult, legally. So, by my definition, a pedophile is any person age 18 or older, who engages in sex with another person who is age 17 or under.

Pedophiles are as American as capitalism. From the hauntingly kiddie pornish baby beauty pageant photos of JonBenet Ramsey, to the drag queenish, pancaked faces of underage models that grace the covers of major fashion magazines, youth is an American religion. Youth is equated with sex. Sex sells everything.

The revered neocon Reverend T. D. Jakes preaches that all men are born with "a beast inside of them" that only God can tame. Clearly, legions of men are fiercely untamed works in progress. Far too many men seem to flaunt a savage two-headed beast. One head is that of a pedophile. The other is a rapist.

As a legendary and radical talk show producer and host, some of my most popular and controversial broadcasts have been on the subject of rape. Macho and moronic male callers always shock me with sinister and flawed definitions of rape, exceptional translations of the word "no", uniquely homoerotic obsessions with group sex and "trains", and amoral rules about conduct, clocks, and condoms etc....

I have always thought that Chili, of the singing trio "TLC", is strikingly beautiful. But, I have always known that it is Lisa 'Left-Eye' Lopes/Nina who exclusively mesmerizes most men. I am convinced that Lisa is the foremost sex symbol of this group only because she is the most girlish. She is the one most lusted after because she is visibly the least mature. Lisa is the one who looks the most like an innocent, baby girl, thus she is the one that is most worshipped by throngs of pedophilic male fans.

R. Kelly has attempted to hide his lust for young girls. He discreetly wooed and wed a 14 year old Aliyah Haughton. Then, he pathologically lied about that union until it was annulled. As a Chicago native privy to private media grapevines, I had heard about R. Kelly's forbidden predilections often, for years. Yet, I never expected to see evidence of the same on a 26 minute and 39 second DVD! It is one thing to be indiscreet with sexual addiction. It is quite another thing to film sexual addiction as sport.

I believe that, if R. Kelly was named Bubba and he worked at McDonald's, he would be in jail as I type this. He would have been imprisoned for his careless and cavalier acts of serial statutory rape long ago. But, because he is famous, rich, handsome, and musically gifted, he is being extended a perpetual leniency and grace that is inexcusable and shameful. He is being awarded with loud silences rather than prison sentences.

When Mike Tyson raped Desiree Washington, droves of his male and female fans excused his antics and demanded his release. They blamed her for being in his hotel room too late, as if the hour justified any attack. Sexist pseudo-christian preachers and other "leaders" from the National Baptist Convention and the Nation of Islam dared to publicly champion Mike Tyson. Even Louis Farrakhan dared to shout that Mike was "...a fox [sent] into the chicken coop. What do you expect?..."

I expected better of R. Kelly. I expected baby girls to be off limits as sexual prey for adult male predators. Irrespective of gender or income, when any adults seduce children, I expect those adults to be prosecuted. I expect this even when they are teachers like Mary Kay Letourneau. I expect this even when they compose and sing great music, like Kelly, in between kiddie sexathons.

Kudos to my hometown Chicago activists, who do not stoop to the loathsome levels of powerful and blasphemous Mike Tyson fans. Recently, Reverend Bamani Obadele, Illinois Representative Ken Dunkin, and Kevin Ammons' Power Club have all publicly denounced R. Kelly and protested his antics. Kudos to rapper Queen Pen also. She is one of the very few celebrity peers who has checked R. Kelly. Many more should join them!

The list of girls who are R. Kelly's sexual prey continues to grow. In Chicago in 1996, Tiffany Hawkins, 15, sued Kelly for convincing her to drop out of school and join him in orgies with other underage girls. She requested 10 million dollars. Kelly settled by paying her a paltry 250,000 dollars.

In Chicago in 2000, Tracy Sampson, 17, sued Kelly (then a married man and father of two children) for seducing her into a long term adulterous affair. The Chicago Sun-Times has reported possession of a second video sex tape. Reporters also claim that several other girls have offered factual evidence of additional underage sexual unions.

In the most famous videotape that is now being sold as a DVD, a girl appears to be even younger than 14. She refers to R. Kelly as "daddy". Their sex acts include intercourse, oral sex, and urination. Even as Kelly denies this video, claiming it is footage of a vindictive clone, many of his closest peers are not behaving as convinced defenders. Def Jam officials reticently announced that they will do nothing to promote Kelly's newest CD. It is a collaboration with Jay-Z, entitled,"The Best of Both Worlds", no lewd pun intended. Money is GOD in all industries. When music companies deliberately act to sacrifice their own sales, grave scandals loom.

Even R. Kelly's gifted duet partner Sparkle has stated that the video is real. Sparkle told a radio host in LA that the 14 year old girl is her niece. Sparkle also identified the wood paneled sauna room where the sex acts are filmed as a room inside one of the Chicago apartments that Kelly owns. Why would Sparkle lie? How did these evil clones get keys to Kelly's apartment?

Kudos to Jamie Foster Brown! She is my favorite celebrity gossip columnist and magazine editor. In the April 2002 issue of her magazine "Sister 2 Sister", Jamie wrote:

"...I've just been shown two videotapes... The girl looks 14, so there is no excuse about not knowing. This second one includes scenes with [R. Kelly] urinating on her and she's dancing for him and urinating on the floor....Unless my eyes are extremely flawed, it is clearly [R. Kelly] talking and positioning the camera...They tell me there are many other tapes, but I've seen enough...The first young girl I saw looked as if what she was doing was painful. It certainly went on long enough. It was oral sex, front and back, without protection....R. Kelly gives the child what looks like money. You see no emotions from the child as she's been trained to perform a certain way...What about the folks around R. Kelly who helped facilitate the encounter? How culpable are they? What will happen?...When money and fame are looming large as life, all the wrongdoings of the celebrity get hidden, tucked away, put aside, but the cancer, the disease is still there...What are we teaching our babies?...R. Kelly needs help, and as a society, so do we."

It is ironic that R. Kelly is adored by millions of willing adult female fans who would gladly give him all of the sex that he could ever desire. Kelly is undeniably one of the world's greatest sex symbols. Why abuse girls while women chase you? In this same classic issue of Sister 2 Sister, celebrity psychologist Dr. Jeff Gardere wrote:

"For older men with age-warped predilections, the attraction to underage girls, especially those between 15 and 17 are many:
-Their supple bodies with no age flaws
-The fantasy of the girl being as pure as the driven snow
-She is inexperienced, therefore he seees her as easily controlled, manipulated, and trained
-There is no need for intellectual engaagement
-He fantasizes that he can command undyying allegiance, especially when he is her first..."

How pathetic it is that so many twisted men dare to see age as a curse, boldly feign that they age flawlessly themselves, dare to dream that they are physically superior to women their own age, cowardly seek to impress women who are impressed most easily, and repulsively need to lord over women, as if females are all inferior groupie whores!!!

Is this universal male pathology the reason why so few of R. Kelly's celebrity peers refuse to call him out? Like Rick James, Jim Brown, and Steve Harvey dared to call out O.J. as a murderer? Is pedophilia more acceptable than eurocentrism and self-hatred? Perhaps so. Certainly, chicken hawks are as commonplace as chicken heads! Hollywood's hawks may be silent to avoid being hypocrites. Still, silence is consent. And, this consent is wrong!

Misogyny is as pervasive in the music industry as the word "nigga". And, pedophilia is definitely a byproduct of the objectification of women. The only thing better than an object, is a newer version of that object. It follows: "The only thing sexier than a woman is a younger woman/baby girl..."

Like R. Kelly sings: "You remind me of my Jeep...I don't see nothing wrong with a little bump and grind baby...Don't front, you know about the rodeo show...". Clearly, our collective silences about R. Kelly prove that all women of all ages are fair game, and mere objects in the "bling bling" life of a "playa playa". Shockingly, the shows go on, even when the headliner is statutory rape, and especially when the stars are "big balling", playboy predators and their random female child prey.
