Fans cry foul over Bianca’s latest loss!
The death of All My Children’s Frankie flooded Soaps In Depth’s E-mailbox with viewer backlash.
The In Depth story: Even prior to her on-screen slaying, word of Frankie’s fate leaked out, leading scores of fans to log on and E-mail their tales of frustration to Soaps In Depth.
“Over the past two months, I have grown to love this show, especially Eden Riegel as Bianca and Elizabeth Hendrickson as Frankie,” writes one viewer, a counselor to gay youths who first tuned into AMC a year ago because of it’s lesbian storyline. “[AMC should] be brave enough to bring her back!”(In fact, at least two on-line petitions are circulating, asking for Frankie’s seemingly improbable return.)
Although others who e-mailed Soaps In Depth also theorize that AMC got cold feet after introducing a love interest for its lone lesbian character, apparently Frankie’s fate was a foregone conclusion.
“It was storyline-driven from the onset,” says a show rep of the teen’s dramatic, predetermined exit.
To be sure, Riegel is sad to lose both a talented scene partner in Hendrickson and yet another girlfriend for Bianca. “I really miss Elizabeth. She was so wonderful, and I think we had a great chemistry,” laments the actress. “To me, I thought she was definitely a keeper. But I guess the storyline [dictated her exit].”
