Review them and then write your personal resume. Be sure to include an objective, education background, experience, and activities. TEACHER SKILLS. Read Characteristics of an Effective Teacher. After reading the skills needed to be an effective teacher, discuss your strengths and weaknesses.  What areas do you need to work on, and how are you going to improve? REFLECTIONS OF PAST TEACHERS. Each of us has one or more teachers in our past that influenced us in our decision to become a educator.  Write an essay telling who inspired/encouraged you to want to become a teacher.  COMPARISON OF PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION ASSOCIATIONS:  Search the Internet for "Association of Professional Educators,"  "Texas Classroom Teachers Association," "Texas Federation of Teachers," and "Texas State Teachers Association."  Read the information on each website.  Compare the vision or mission statement of each organization.  After reading all four, which philosophy best matches your personality, beliefs about education, and your philosophy of education?
	MISSION STATEMENT: Each school district and each campus has a mission or vision statement.  When you do your internship, as the campus administration for a copy of theirs.  Often it is posted int he halls or other public area.  Write a mission statement for your virtual campus.
	DIVERSITY ACTIVITY: Plan a school-wide activity celebrating diversity.  This may be a play, open house, all day celebration, etc.  Search the Internet for ideas.  This could be cultural, racial, ethnic, nationality, etc.    Find a TEKS standard that can be met with this activity.  Explain why you chose this activity.
