Becoming An EC-4 Teacher in Texas
Required reading for TECA 1303
These two textbooks have been written following the guidelines for the PPR certfication examinations for the state of Texas. Students are encouraged to pay particular attention to the information contained in the appropriate text for the level of certification they are seeking.
It is not usually my practice to give closed-book tests. However, the reality of it is that for your certification exam, you will not be able to use any resources other than those you bring in "your head." Therefore, all of the exams from this text will be traditional, in- class, study-ahead-of time-exams.
Much of the material may be repeats from previous courses. Some of it will be new in this course and reviewed often in courses yet to be taken. It will all be on the TExES.
1. Read each chapter thoroughly and carefully.
2. Be able to provide terms when given definitions or identifying information. Memorize definitions!
3. When given case studies, situations, analysis, be able to discuss the requested outcome.
