Online and On Campus
1. Describe the environment in which you are interning e.g. private preschool/school, religious sponsorship,
public school, grade level; location; number of caregivers/teachers, etc.
2. Describe the demographics of the children enrolled in the program in which you are interning.
3. What is the daily routine? Include a graphic example. A graphic example would be a chart with times and activities on it.
4. Draw a diagram of the physical layout of the facility/classroom. Label each part.
5. Discuss the types of equipment and materials used in the classroom. Example: computers, TV, overhead, etc.
6. Describe and discuss your responsibilities as an intern.
7. Illustrate the outdoor play area.
8. How is discipline handled? What are the discipline rules? Is there a student handbook? Include a copy with this prompt if possible.
9. What are the health and safety measures utilized? Check with the school nurse. What is the Crisis Managment Plan? Attach a copy if possible.
10. If snacks are provided, discuss what and how they are given to the children. If snacks are not available, what is served for lunches on a regular basis.
11. What do you like most about your intern setting and experiences.
12. Discuss the contributions you have made to the school program to which you have been assigned..
13. Based upon what you have learned in your education class, what would you do differently at your assigned
site? Example: Would you change bus routine, lunch time schedules, bathroom breaks, etc.
14. What recommendations would you make if you had the authority to do so?
15. Does the school have a Parent Involvement Plan? Discuss parent involvement opportunities at your school.
