HOME This assignment is for EDUC 1301 and TECA 1303. 
CAMPUS PLAN:  This project has multiple parts.  You will design plans for an entire campus.  Using those plans, develop a plan for your classroom that supports the campus-wide plan.  When you are doing your internship, ask the campus administration to share their plans with you.  Feel free to adapt their plans, or research the Internet for suggestions.  Portions of this assignment will be done previously as individual assignments. 

Part I:  You will be given some data about your campus.  Using this information, develop a campus-wide plan for the following:  Behavior Management, Technology, and Parent Involvement.
Part 2:  Develop a classroom plan for your individual class.  Your plans must support your campus -wide plan. 
Part 3:  Prepare a PowerPoint presentation that summarizes your SCHOOL plans.  This is to be submitted via email to the instructor.

ON CAMPUS CLASS: You will be divided into education communities to design a new elementary school in your district.  As a committee you will design three sections of a campus plan including the following:

ONLINE CLASS:  You will develop the plan individually and submit a 5-10 minute Power Point Presentation that will be emailed as an attachment that will include:

Description and demographics of your campus:  enrollment, teachers by grades/subjects, special programs, etc. (See any school campus homepage for ideas.)
Mission Statement (Search Internet for samples of school mission statements.)
School colors, mascot, motto, school song (optional)
Summary of your campus behavior management plan.
Summary of your technology plan.
Parent involvement activities


CAMPUS BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT PLAN


School districts normally develop a system-wide student code of conduct or behavior management plan.  As a campus, you will, of course, follow the district guidelines.  What you as a campus planning team are charged with developing include the following:

What is the sequence of events that would occur before a child is removed from the campus for inappropriate behavior or violation of a rule?
List and explain each action step in the sequence.
Develop a plan/procedure for a hearing or resolution to the problem.

As an individual teacher on this campus, you will develop a classroom plan that is aligned with the campus plan

CAMPUS TECHNOLOGY PLAN

GOALS to be addressed:
Enhance the learning process with a wide variety of technologies.
Enhance the teaching process through access to a variety of technologies.
Improve time management. Integrate technology throughout the curriculum. Outreach to the community.
Provide opportunities for active learning to develop reasoning, real life, and interpersonal skills.

INSTRUCTIONS:  As a group you will develop Performance Objectives and implementation plans for your campus.

PROCEDURE:

As part of the planning process you will be expected to create a campus with the following considerations:

1. The size of the community served by your campus
2. The number of children on your campus
3. The grade span of your campus
4. The number and types of personnel on your campus
5. The name of the school
6. School mascot/colors/motto/song, etc.
7. Write a mission statement
8. Any other design elements your group feels are necessary for an effective school environment


As an individual teacher on that campus you will:

1. Write a classroom behavior management plan
2. Develop a technology use policy for your class
3. Write a parent involvement plan for your class
4. Develop one lesson plan for your class using the Hunter Model

ASSIGNMENT:

There are two parts of this activity.  The first part is designing the specified sections of the Campus Plan. 

The second part of the assignment is for you as an individual teacher on that campus to take the group plan and develop an action plan for your classroom that supports the overall Campus Plan.
