Miss Moore's Philosophy of Education
Effective teaching is the goal of all professional educators. As a teacher, it is my responsibility to provide all students an equal opportunity to acquire the best education possible. It is my duty to modify and adjust the curriculum to meet the needs of all students based on their personal methods/styles of learning. As a professional I am require to take responsibility of all actions occurring within the classroom. It is my job to provide a safe and inviting environment. One that will enable the student to excel and reach their highest potential.
I am a strong supporter of Interdisciplinary Approaches to teaching. I feel that students need to be aware of all aspects of a particular topic in order to fully understand and appreciate the elements behind the concept. Students need to be able to make connections between their prior knowledge and new material. I feel that students need to take an active role in their education, meaning that they need to have a voice in the way the class will be conducted, material covered, assessment, etc. I think that by having an opinion and influence on these elements students will be more serious and engaged in their work and overall education.
