Amendment 15 (1870)

Translation: Every U.S. citizen has the right to vote no matter race, color or pervious convictions. Congress has the power to enforce this law.

History: After the 13th and the 14th amendment African Americans were still not allowed to vote in many states. This Amendment should have taken care of the problem but the southerners still found ways to keep African Americans from voting.

Personal meaning: Equality is a hard thing to achieve. This was the final step in giving ex-slaves their rights. African Americans were still mistreated and I think that is wrong. The south kept finding loopholes to take some rights away from African Americans and that makes me sick.
