Amendment 4(1791)

Translation: Nothing can be searched or seized with out a warrant issued on probable cause, and an exacting description of the place or thing being searched or seized.

History: The 4th amendment also originated from a right that the colonists didn't have. While the rebels stored gunpowder and rifles in houses, owning a gun was against British law. Soldiers would often search any suspicious house and would seize any firearms they found. This was one of the requested amendments given to Madison and was passed with the rest of the Bill of Rights.

Personal meaning: This is another one of those Amendments that know one thinks about day to day, but if any police officer came in to my house and started tearing it apart I would sure wish he had a good reason. This Amendment is often taken for granted, but it is a good thing we have it included in the Bill of Rights.
