OUR MISSION
The purpose of the American Draft Cross Registry is to promote the breeding, development and training of the most impressive show horse today; the American Draft Cross.  Through it's performance in the areas of Show Jumping, Eventing, Driving and Dressage, today's Draft Cross horse promotes itself very well as an excellent sporthorse.  However, our goal is to promote the Draft Cross as its' own breed. 
By providing avenues whereby breeders can access the best of the hotbloods and the best of the coldbloods, the Registry attempts to further the selective breeding of both, culminating in the production of a truly exceptional Sporthorse.
WHAT IS AN AMERICAN DRAFT CROSS?

The American Draft Cross is any equine that is at least 25% draft with the remainder of his parentage consisting of Thoroughbred, Saddlebred, Morgan, Quarterhorse, Paint, Appaloosa, Standardbred or Arab blood.  We also register full blooded drafts.  For purposes of the ADCR, Friesians and Cleveland Bays are considered draft breeds.  Although most draft crosses in the U.S. today consist of Clydesdale, Shire, Belgian or Percheron breeding, any draft breed originally developed for agricultural or industrial work will make an animal eligible for Registration.
The American Draft Cross is unike any other warmblood breed.  These Warmbloods will have the movement and athleticism to rival any European breed. However, the gentle, loving, unflappable personality of his draft parentage assures the the American Draft Cross is exceptional .. both in and out of the arena.
YEARLY AWARDS PROGRAM

The American Draft Cross Registry offers annual awards for its members in the disciplines of Hunter/Jumper, Eventing, Driving and Dressage.  The Registry offers awards for local competitors (horses competing in Regional or State recognized associations) as well as for horses competing nationally.

ATTENTION!!!!!!!

Until June 30, 2003 and American Draft Cross that was obtained via PMU, adoption, nurse mare farm or rescue will receive a 25% discount with the savings on registration going towards a year end award strictly for those horses.  If response warrants, this will become a permanent annual award.
