AMERICANA'S MUSIC CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM I have yet to see any definite grouping for musical types, what one person considers rock, another would consider pop, IE. there is no set meaning for any of the major types of music. I do not condemn EVERY song in a specific genre when I give a negative description of a music type. Here's what I mean when I speak about music: |

| POP MUSIC | This music generally has a lighter sound and is swear free. Example groups and songs would include: Backstreet Boys, I want it that way; Britney Spears, Sometimes; Westlife, flying without wings; A*teens, Dancing Queen. POP MUSIC IS NOT DEAD... |
| ROCK AND ROLL | This music is classic music generally from the 50s, 60s and early 70s. It is also generally light and swear free. Example groups and songs are as follows: Supremes, Baby love; Beach Boys, Surfin' USA; Beatles, Yellow submarine. |
| ROCK | This music generally has a hard sound and generally has more swearing. |
| RAP | This music generally has an in-your-face style and is fast paced. Swears and pornographic situations can be readily found in this genre. Examples include, Bone, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dog |
| CCM | Christian Music stylistically similar to Pop Music and Rock and Roll. Really great sounding music with a Christian Message. Examples include 4him, Michael W Smith, Rachel Lampa, ApologetiX, and Crystal Lewis. |
| TRASH** | This consists of specific "artists" that are so gross and profane that I have set them apart. They may appear in other categories but have absolutely no redeeming value of any kind whatsoever. Their messages are little more than explicit sex, or hatred or destruction or all 3. "Artists" include Bone, Eminem, Insane Clown Posse, Shaggy, Bloodhound Gang. The Song "Imagine" by John Lennon falls under this category because of the Communist/Atheistic message of the song, check out here. Know more that should be listed here, email me below** |
| Legacy Artists | Legacy Artists are artists who started out decent and then got corrupted by fame, drugs, or something else later on which results in their music taking a different direction (for the worse) This can occur in any genre. Examples include Britney (ego/fame) (formerly Britney Spears), the Beatles (drugs). |
