Febuary 22, 2004 ~ Only 3 weeks until kidding begins at Americana Acres. Sidney is due March 15th. I will post information as soon as she delivers, a doe kid will be retained (if a doe is not born we will be keeping a buck). I received my milk machine a few weeks ago and I can't wait to use it!
December 20, 2003 ~ All our does have been bred and information reagarding the breedings have been posted. Our sales list is done, e-mail goat_whisperer@yahoo.com if you'd like to receive a copy. Also, I was one of 16 recipents nationwide to receive a $1000 FFA livestock grant from Merial. I will be purchasing a milk machine!
November 22, 2003 ~ Whew! Show Season is over, Marching Band is done, Basketball has concluded and the first Marking Period of my Senior year is long past! I've finally got time to update our website. Sidney, Ellie, Colette and Music have all been bred. We've leased a yearling alpine buck and we're still waiting on Abby. I hope to have our sales list ready as soon as possible!
July 6, 2003 ~ I apoligize for such a delay in updates! Abby freshened with triplets on April 9th, two bucks and a doe. We will be retaining the doe kid, our first home-bred doe, Americana Acres Copper Penny. Her brothers, Americana Acres IVE Marquis and Americana Acres Ebony n' Ivory are waiting to go to their new home as breeding bucks. We've purchased a beautiful doeling, Irish Valley IVE Collette. Collette is out of Waiilatpu HR CandleInTheWind and by Irish Valley WTA Excalibur (our yearling Ellie's litter-mate brother and sire of Abby's 2003 kids). Our show season will be short this year. We could only attend one sanctioned show, the GLOM Spectacular. Our does placed well at GLOM and Alisha won her showmanship class. Alisha also topped showmanship at the 2003 4-H State Goat Show. Our final show, the Greater Ionia County 4-H fair begins in 2 weeks.
April 7, 2003 ~ Apparently Sidney and Music were not bred... both are way over due at this point. Music will be shown as a dry yearling and I will still exhibit Sidney in showmanship. Abby is currently in the initial stages of labor, we will post information on her kids as soon as they arrive
